Nottingham Forest
Forest’s good form has come a little too late for them to be troubling those in the play-off place but they’re a better side than their 16th place in the league suggests. They’ve lost just one in eight and are W9 D5 L2 this season against teams currently in the bottom-half and Luton, just two places above them fall in to that category.
Luton staged a second half comeback to win against Sheffield Wednesday after being 2-0 down at half-time on Saturday so they’ll come in to the match in good spirits. They’ve scored just seven goals on the road this season but won a remarkable five times, each win coming by a goal to nil. Their away games average just 1.56 goals per game while Forest’s matches at the City Ground see just 1.81 so one goal might be enough to win this.
Exeter City
Promotion hopefuls Exeter will be without Tom Parkes who was sent-off in their tame defeat at Crawley at the weekend. A penalty and a late goal cost them the three points, ending their four match unbeaten run. But they’ve now got back-to-back home matches against Walsall and Leyton Orient which fall in to the must-win category if they’re to mount a serious attempt at reaching the play-offs.
Home form has been good, 26 points from 14 games and they’re the highest scoring home side in the division and should be too good for a struggling Walsall.
As expected the Saddlers fell to a 2-1 defeat to Bradford on Saturday and it’s now one win in 11 for them. New Head Coach Brian Dutton is still looking for his first win.
Bradford City
The Bantams were a good bet to win on Saturday and can do the business for us again on Tuesday. The new permanent management team of Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars have worked wonders a Valley Parade and the Bantams have now lost just once in their last 12 games (W9 D3 L1).
Visitors Mansfield will be a tougher test than Walsall were but their win against Morecambe at the weekend was their first in six after a good start to the year.
Cambridge Utd
Staying in League 2, league leaders Cambridge are odds against (21/20) to win at home against the team 19th in the table.
Visitors Scunthorpe had been on a good run of form, winning four games to nil against teams in the bottom half, but they’ve toiled the last two against in-form Bolton and 3rd-placed Cheltenham. In fact they’ve struggled against teams in the top 10 of the league winning just five points.
Cambridge got back to winning ways with a 1-0 win at Port Vale at the weekend and they won this fixture 5-0 back in October.
