There are just two points between the top three in the Premier League and all of the title challengers will be on the road on Saturday in what should be a cracking coupon. Leaders Chelsea are 11/4 to win the league with reigning champions Manchester City 5/7 and Liverpool can be backed at 7/2.
Champions to Show Their Class
Watford must be fearing the worst from the visit of Manchester City given the champions’ recent head-to-head advantage.
Unluckily for Watford, they have lost their last 13 matches against City with Didi Hamann and Joey Barton in the side the last time the Manchester men failed to beat the Hornets way back in April 2007.
During City’s hot spell they have won 8-0, 6-0 twice including in the FA Cup final and 5-0 and understandably Pep Guardiola’s side are 4/21 to win with Watford massive 13/1 outsiders.
It should be a routine City success and taking the visitors to win to nil at 20/23 looks to be a solid enough play. Seven of City’s 10 league wins this term have come with a clean sheet.
City’s attacking play can be mesmerising, however, that often overshadows an extremely organised defensive framework which protects keeper Ederson so well.
No team has allowed fewer shots than City’s 92 in this season’s Premier League and they have faced just 26 shots on target – nobody else has a figure lower than 41.
A Lot to Like About Liverpool
Liverpool have scored at least twice in every match they have played this season – a remarkable statistic – as is the fact they have scored four times in each of their last three Premier League outings. A run which includes a 4-0 demolition of Arsenal and a 4-1 success over Merseyside rivals Everton.
Mohamed Salah continues to show exactly why many consider him to be the best player in the league and his unstoppable performances could carry the Reds close to another title.
They won’t find life easy at Molineux given Wolves have kept three straight clean sheets, but it should be another road kill for Liverpool.
Only three of Wolves’s 14 Premier League games have gone over 2.5 goals and Wanderers have not scored in any of their five defeats. A Liverpool win to nil appeals at 5/4.
Hammers to burst Chelsea’s bubble
If Chelsea fail to beat West Ham in the early match then they are likely to be knocked off top spot come the end of the day and the Blues could struggle to see off the Hammers in what should be a strongly contested London derby.
Chelsea were average in Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Watford and will need to perform better.
The Hammers, who have already beaten Liverpool and Spurs at home this term, are sitting in fourth spot in the Premier League and are also through to the quarter-finals of the League Cup and the knockout stages of the Europa League.
West Ham are strong on set-pieces and worth taking alongside the draw on the double chance market at 21/20.
Elsewhere, the draws stand out at 9/4 in Newcastle v Burnley and 41/20 for Southampton v Brighton.
Relegation rivals Newcastle and Burnley have won one Premier League game between them and Brighton have shared the spoils in seven of their last nine league matches.
