After Leicester City’s 2-0 win over Chelsea on Tuesday evening, Manchester United lost their spot at the top of the Premier League table but they have the opportunity to return to their perch just 24 hours later.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are full of confidence at present and they will be hoping to extend their fantastic 13-game unbeaten run in the league when they travel to Craven Cottage.
United played out a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Liverpool on Sunday, a result which leaves them three points ahead of the Reds after 18 games, but Wednesday’s contest should be more open.
Fulham are winless in their last 11 games against the Red Devils, while United have won their previous four away matches at Fulham by an aggregate score of 12-1.
United also have a formidable record against newly-promoted teams; they are now unbeaten in their last eight games against teams that have come up from the Championship – scoring 25 goals in those matches.
Fulham have failed to score in their last three at home and United should win without conceding, which is available at 8/5.
City Hoping to Extend Unbeaten Run
Manchester City have reignited their Premier League title charge and they are on a 15-game unbeaten run in all competitions, while five league wins in succession has lifted spirits in the camp.
Even without striker Sergio Aguero, City are finding the net with ease and Wednesday’s opponents Aston Villa could be in for a long night.
It is hard to know what state Dean Smith’s squad are in with Villa set to play for the first time in the league since New Year’s Day after coronavirus virus affected the squad.
City have won 14 of their last five home games against Villa and the Citizens are likely to improve that record this week.
With Villa out of action for over two weeks, they should struggle to get past City’s improved defence and a home win to nil is on offer at 6/5.
Salah to Inspire Reigning Champions
Liverpool’s form has dropped off recently, having won just one of their last five in all competitions, but they have only lost one match during that time and they will fancy their chances in Thursday’s clash against Burnley.
With the likes of Leicester, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham all winning games of late, Jurgen Klopp’s men cannot afford to slip up at home.
The Reds’ disappointing run has coincided with Mohamed Salah’s poor form in the final third, with the Egyptian failing to score in any of his last four in the league. Only once has he gone longer without a goal and Liverpool need their talisman to come good.
Salah only has one in his last seven against Burnley, but he will be desperate to set the record straight with so much riding on the game. He is 13/10 to score two or more, while Liverpool should also win to nil at odds of 5/6.
