ARSENAL would’ve burst plenty of coupons up and down the land on Wednesday as they hung on to win 1-0 at Stamford Bridge after being gifted the opening goal.
It was just their second win in 32 meetings against the traditional Premier League ‘Big Six’ and is a result that leaves the door open for Liverpool to claim a Champions League spot.
The Reds make the trip to Old Trafford tonight in search of a win that would take them to within four points of Chelsea with a game in hand but they’ve not won away to United since 2014 and won just once in their last 15 visits.
For Man Utd it’ll be their fourth match in eight days and gaffer Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to field a stronger line-up than the one that lost to Leicester City on Tuesday.
The bookies rate Liverpool favourites to win at 11/8 which reflects the Reds’ greater need for points than their hosts. KevMac prefers a cards angle for his top tip in his match preview.
In Scotland, Hamilton’s defeat at Ross County, coupled with Kilmarnock’s draw with St Mirren leaves the Accies on the brink of relegation to the Championship. They’d need a miracle nine-goal win when the two sides clash on Sunday. Killie look likely to face Dundee in the Premiership Play-off final after the Dens Park side recorded a 3-0 first leg win at Raith Rovers.
In Spain Atletico went four points clear of Barcelona, and five clear of Real Madrid who play their game in hand tonight at Granada. Real’s inability to keep many clean sheets has piqued Mark Walker’s interest as he goes for a win and BTTS for Zinedine Zidane’s side in his match preview.
The Dutch Eredivisie is in action on Thursday early afternoon. All 18 teams are in action at 1.30pm and Tolu has previewed Ajax’s clash with VVV Venlo. The Amsterdam club have scored an eye-watering 23 goals in their last three meetings with VVV including a 13-0 win earlier in the season. Over 3.5 goals for Ajax is 11/10 and four goals would take their tally to the magic 100 for the season.
Over 1.5 goals in each match pays a measly 34/10 at Bet365 but 29+ goals to be scored across all nine matches is 4/5 at Skybet and makes more appeal.
