IT’S not often in recent years that Dundee have found themselves headline act in the world of football but as the season draws to close their Play-Off Final first leg is match with Kilmarnock is as big as anything else on offer on Thursday.
The Dens Park side have huffed and puffed all season but are 180 minutes from a return to Scotland’s top flight. With a return trip to Rugby Park to come on Monday they’ll be banking on a first leg lead to give them something to hang on to.
Opponents Killie will feel unlucky to find themselves having to face a two-legged play-off but their best form of the season came too late. However they’ll be confident of getting the better of the Championship side over the two matches and that’s reflected in the 1/5 odds on them staying up. That looks a little on the skinny side and there won’t be many lumping on at those odds.
Dundee are 14/5 to win with Bet365 and 5/6 to avoid defeat on the Double Chance market.
There could be goals at Dens Park however with the likes of Jason Cummings and Kyle Lafferty both capable of producing something from nothing and Over 2.5 Goals in 17/20. SlipsTips likes the look of cards and has gone for a one of few contenders who could find their way in to the ref’s book. It could be fiesty affair and over 3.5 cards is 5/6 (Bet365).
In the night’s other play-off in Scotland Dumbarton hold a 3-1 first leg lead over Edinburgh City. Mark Walker saw enough from the first leg to side with the Sons again and is backing them to secure their League One status with another win.
Well done to Greg MacLean who made it four out of four with his Bet of the Day thanks to goals in Australia and Belgium on Wednesday. Keep an eye out for his next tip in the coming days.
