It’s the week all golf fans and golf nerds have been waiting for… The Tiger is returning, all be it in what can be described as a cameo appearance, but none the less it’s a sight all sports and golf fans alike have been eagerly waiting for.
This week’s PNC Championship is a father and son format over 36 holes, playing in a Texas scramble style format, it’s the ideal low key event where Tiger can return with as little pressure as possible. We all get to see the golfing icon gracing the fairways as he recovers from his latest injury crisis, he will no doubt yet again prove how much audience pulling power he really has. Golf will always need Tiger and I am so excited to see him playing again, this week will no doubt leave the world wondering if he will be playing full capacity for the next major which is The Masters in mid-April. Only time will tell, so fingers crossed his rehab will continue on the trend it has, as a Masters with Tiger is far superior than a Masters without him.
As for the PNC Championship itself, the defending champions Team Thomas (Justin Thomas and his father) will be defending, likely I’d say to be contenders yet again this week for this year’s bragging rights. Something I’m sure Team Woods will have something to say about!
As for my own game, the season has now come to an end. Time for me to hit the off season, enjoy some time off and get mentally refreshed for the season ahead.
I’ve a few goals set for the off season, mainly gym orientated as it’s surprising to me how often during the season (due to the tournament schedule) my weight fluctuates. Staying physically ready and prepared is half the battle as it’s not easy when you are competing. My goal is to increase my club head speed and gain some added body mass. How do I do that, there’s no secret and it’s just by working smart and working hard in the gym to earn those gains!
I’d like to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you a very merry festive period with your loved ones. I’d also like to thank you all for your support this year, see you at the next one!
