TEAM EMPIRE vs CYBER LEGACY OMEGA LEAGUE: EUROPE CLOSED QUALIFIER BETTING PREVIEW
Having saluted in their opening bouts of Group A, Cyber Legacy and Team Empire will clash in the winners’ match of the OMEGA League: Europe Closed Qualifier this Wednesday afternoon.
Team Empire rebuilt their Dota2 esports roster in mid-June with the signing of Alexey “Smiling Knight” Sviridov, who teamed up with former Team Empire Hope players Alexander “lightless” Potapenko, Alexey “Mastery” Vinchevskiy, Dzhama “jAM3S” Abdurashitov and Sergey “Ecnart” Slobodyanyk.
The CIS mix have since attended four Dota2 competitions with varying degrees of success. Just a day after the roster came together, Team Empire won a silver medal from ROG Community Cup Season 2. A day after that, they claimed gold from the Vulkan Fight Series.
Empire fell flat at BEYOND EPIC: Europe/CIS, where they were outmatched by B8, OG, Vikin.gg, Team Nigma and Team Secret as they finished last with a 0-5 record. However, that was a stacked tournament that played at a much higher level than their previous endeavours.
Upon returning to lower-tier competition in Arena of Blood Season 2, Empire had no issues finishing in second after an unfortunate loss to EXTREMUM, who had only recently returned to the Dota2 scene with a fresh roster headlined by Dimitry “Nefrit” Tarasich and Sergey Alexandrovich “G” Bragin.
Empire did not play any further competitive fixtures until last Saturday, when they outclassed 5Comrades in the opening match of the OMEGA League qualifiers. While the match was fairly one-sided, the victors had one or two nervy moments against a side consisting mostly of amateurs.

Nevertheless, Empire won game one 51-31 with a 28.6k net worth lead and closed out the series 37-16 with a 21.6k net worth lead in game two. Smiling Knight played a pivotal role in his team’s success with a combined 37/4/31 record and team-high stats with 4.77 KDA, 246.96 LH, 10.65 DH, 502 GOM and 540 XPM.
Standing on the other side of the arena this Wednesday will be Cyber Legacy, who restructured their roster last week with the signing of Idan “MagicaL” Vardanian, Danil “Bignum” Shehovtsov, Semion “CemaTheSlayer” Krivulya and Zaur “Cooman” Shakhmurzayev.
The win against Khan in the opening Group A fixture was this lineup’s first match together, and it’s fair to say they delivered the goods.
The first game of the series was somewhat close for the first 20 minutes, with Khan doing a solid job preventing Cyber Legacy to get too far ahead. Once the match entered the late game, however, Bignum’s squad ran riot to win 23-13 with a 21.9k net worth lead.
While Khan put up some resistance in game one, the second game of the series was much more straightforward. Cyber Legacy needed just under 35 minutes to seal the deal with a 41-14 kill score and 29.9k net worth lead.
CemaTheSlayer had a phenomenal performance that day with a combined 6/10/44, whereas MagicaL (18/3/24) and Cooman (25/4/18) did not fail to show up either.
TEAM EMPIRE vs CYBER LEGACY OMEGA LEAGUE: EUROPE CLOSED QUALIFIER BETTING PREDICTIONS
It’s difficult to value a team’s strength based on one game alone, but there is no denying Cyber Legacy look like a real chance to qualify for the OMEGA League: Europe Immortal Division.
Cyber Legacy’s team features some of the most experienced CIS Dota2 players in the scene. While most of them are no longer playing as well as they did in their prime, having so much knowledge stacked into one roster is bound to benefit any team.
While we have to give some praise to Team Empire and their solid performances in the second and third tiers of Dota2 esports, it’s concerning how much this team relies on Smiling Knight. Since he will be facing Cooman, it’s fair to assume Empire will have a hard time executing their win condition.
