View our expert’s Super Footy Accumulator Tips & Predictions for Saturday.
Our Acca Tips are mostly on the win-daw-win markets and largely based on statistical analysis of recent performances.
Cardiff City
Cardiff head to the Riverside Stadium aiming to add to their 6 match winning streak following an impressive win at Bournemouth in midweek. It’s a run that seen them overtake Saturday’s opponents, Middlesbrough in the table and they now find themselves in the play-off places.
Middlesbrough fell to an all too familiar defeat to Bristol City on Wednesday, bring them crashing back down after two wins on the trot and they’re now ninth in the table. That was their sixth defeat since the start of the year and the pressure is on Neil Warnock to turn it around.
7/4 for a Cardiff win looks generous based on the two sides’ respective form.
QPR
Another team on a hot streak at the moment are Queen’s Park Rangers. Charlie Austin was added to the squad from West Brom in January and he’s weighed in with three goals but the share of goals has been spread around the squad and that’s a hallmark of the strength in depth that Mark Warburton has at his disposal.
Birmingham have picked up just one Championship victory in eight and haven’t won at home since October. Relegation is looming large for the Blues but in-form QPR can hand them another defeat at 31/20.
Bradford City
The Bantams continue to move up the table and have now lost just once in their last 12 games (W8 D3 L1). It’s a tremendous run of form that has seen Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars be appointed joint permanent managers. Their 1-0 win over Leyton Orient saw them climb to 11th in the table – their highest league position since the opening weeks of the season.
They travel to a team heading in the opposite direction on Saturday, Walsall. The Saddlers are in a bit of dissaray. Manager Darrel Clarke jumped ship last week to join League Two rivals Port Vale but results hadn’t been good and they’ve picked up just seven points from their last 10 games. New Head Coach Brian Dutton is looking for his first win but they’ll need to overturn the form to do so on Saturday.
Queen of the South
The Doonhamers look a value bet at home to Dunfermline on Saturday. Allan Johnston has turned things around at Palmerston and now look serious play-off contenders, although things are very tight below Hearts in the Championship. They’re not longer as reliant on the ageing Stephen Dobbie as they used to be which can only be a good thing.
Dunfermline have struggled away from home this season and managed just one win away from East End Park – that to bottom side Alloa. 14/5 for the home win looks a little overpriced.
Wolves
Wolves can put the icing on the cake for our Acca with a win at St James’ Park. Nuno Espírito Santo’s side were staring down the barrel a few weeks ago and looked like they could’ve been drawn in to a relegation battle bu three wins and two draws in their last six has lifted them clear of trouble and and they could put more distance between themselves and the trouble zone with a win at Newcastle.
The Toon are nervously looking over their shoulder and but for some good early season form they’d be in big trouble. As it is they’re three points and one place above Fulham who occupy 18th place. Their season has been peppered by some really good results but just four wins at home tells its own story. Wolves are probably a little shorter than we’d like at 5/4 but they’re more than capable of getting the three points.
Others on the Super Acca shortlist included Watford, Dundee Utd and Arbroath
