Here at FST, we love little more than a long stretch on the sofa during a packed day of sport. Sunday is a perfect day to plonk down by the biggest screen you can find and let all the sport wash over you.
There’s an overwhelming amount on across Sunday. However, if you time it right you can avoid those irritating things like housework, the dread of Monday and the outside world.
Luckily, we’ve taken all the hard work out of your lazy Sunday. He’s our breakdown of the day’s sporting highlights, stretching from 7am through to the early hours of Monday morning. Below you can find our guide to 17 hours of quality sport, complete with a 43/1 accumulator.
7 am – Western United vs Adelaide United
BT Sport ESPN
The A-League is one for the early risers, but this clash should be a good way to kickstart our day. Here two high-scoring sides clash, with both hopeful of prolonging their season in the A-League finals.
The clash of the two top-four contenders will be an entertaining one, according to our experts. Over 2.5 goals is the pick in our Western United vs Adelaide predictions.
8 am – Australian Open Fourth Round
Eurosport 1 & 2
Sunday’s action continues in Australia, with the Australian Open heading towards its second week. The night session in Melbourne kicks off at 8am UK time on Sunday, with plenty of action to keep you entertained until the football starts.
11 am – Atletico Madrid vs Leganes
FreeSports
Not gone for that Sunday nap yet? Good, because we switch our focus to the day’s European football from 11am, with Atletico Madrid chasing three points at Leganes on Sunday. They are eight points shy of the leaders going into the weekend.
We expect a classic Atletico Madrid win to nil here, with the hosts in good form defensively. We’re going with a victory and a clean sheet for the hosts in our Atletico Madrid vs Leganes predictions.
1 pm – Man City vs Fulham
BBC One
Sunday has three live games from the FA Cup, starting with holders Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s side are in for a disappointing finish to the season apparently, despite being favourites for three trophies – including this one.
We’ve backed City to progress, while our Manchester City vs Fulham predictions point to at least four goals at the Etihad, making it a must-watch in our eyes.
3 pm – Tranmere vs Man Utd
BT Sport 1
This is the kind of game against a poor, struggling opponent in the cup that leads to mass rotation. However, Tranmere will likely show United some respect and name a strong team.
That’s right, it’s the quintessential FA Cup game. This League One David meets a confused, demoralised Goliath managed by a perfectly nice man who is coasting off a goal so old that it could legally drink.
Our Tranmere vs Manchester United predictions suggest that the hosts could take advantage of United’s turmoil to grab a goal in the Fourth Round.
5 pm – Roma vs Lazio
Premier Sports 1
If you’re sick of seeing giants take on minnows, then it’s time for a big Serie A double-header. First up is the Rome Derby, a bitter clash between these two rivals and neighbours. Things have been going well at the Stadio Olimpico this term, with Lazio in third and Roma in fourth.
The big battle for the top four continues, but Lazio have their eyes on the title after an 11-game winning run in the league. With their red hot form, we expect Lazio to put on a show in the Derby della Capitale, as we see them bagging a couple of goals in our Roma vs Lazio predictions.
7:45 pm – Napoli vs Juventus
Premier Sports 1
Next up, Napoli are showing all the motivation you’d expect from a side who have left two-week long training camps by the second day this season.
Napoli have fallen to 11th – 27 points shy of leaders Juve. The champions have a mildly successful forward named Cristiano Ronaldo, who is bidding to score in an eighth straight league game here.
Of course, the big focus here is Maurizio Sarri, who went from Naples to Juve via a West London detour. He takes a 100% record in 2020 to meet some angry Neapolitans, led by the constantly angry Gennaro Gattuso. We’ve backed a winning return for Sarri in our Napoli vs Juventus predictions.
8:30 pm – Houston Rockets @ Denver Nuggets
Sky Sports Mix
Still with us? Well done. It takes a lot of stamina and commitment to do this little. We’re in deep denial that Monday is coming, so we’re heading across the water for some NBA action. First up is the UK-friendly tipoff in Denver, as two sides on course for the playoffs in the West meet.
This one is followed up by five more NBA games at 11 pm. Each of those are available to stream with Betfair, while you can find our accumulator predictions for those in our NBA predictions section.
12:45 am – Boca Juniors vs Independiente
Live on bet365
Finally, we’re back to football for the final leg of our marathon of laziness. Take your mind off work tomorrow with some action from Argentina. You can find this clash live on bet365, as title-chasing Boca Juniors look for another three points.
Our experts are confident that Boca Juniors can deliver in the early hours of Monday. They are in solid form against the poor sides, with Independiente down in 15th place. A home win is the pick in our Boca Juniors vs Independiente predictions.
Sunday Breakdown Football Accumulator
