Forget Crystal Palace’s win at Manchester City (18/1) or Brighton’s comeback from two down to claim a point at Anfield (11/2) or even Livingston’s stalemate at in-form Celtic (6/1), the result of the day was at Borough Briggs where Clydebank overcame the odds to book their place in the 3rd round of the Scottish Cup with a win over Elgin City.
Paul would’ve been proud as punch with his team today and you can bet your bottom dollar he’d have made the trip up north to follow his team to victory. Congratulations to everyone at the club and best of luck in the next round at home to Clyde – you’ll have a whole band of fans from here right behind you!
Fans of Paul’s best pal, Desmond, also had a great day! Our goals specialist landed his first full house of the season thanks to a 90th minute goal by Oldham. That landed his BTTS Double at just over 2/1 to go alongside his Team Goals Double at 14/5 and Over 2.5 Goals Treble which paid nearly 6/1. As ever Desmond suggests you put them all on a roll-up Acca which paid a whopping 69/1. It took his October profit to over 100 points. Well done Desmond!
Well done to everyone that posted a winner yesterday.
Sunday is a relatively quiet one with just two Premier League matches and one from the Scottish Premiership.
Rangers have the chance to open up a four point lead at the top of the table after a bad day for the three teams chasing them. The Gers make the relatively short trip to Lanarkshire where Motherwell are the hosts for the noon kick-off.
Steven Gerrard’s side haven’t been very convincing this season but they’re still getting results and have a good record against Well who haven’t won a league clash between the two since 2015.
Rangers should get the job done but at 4/11 are a little too short. Instead Have a look at Motherwell to score. They’ve found the net in all but two of their league games and Rangers have kept just three clean sheets in 11 matches, in sharp contrast to their amazing defensive record last season. A Motherwell goal pays 4/5 at Bet365.
In the Premier League there’s a massive match for Norwich City at Carrow Road where Leeds United are the visitors. Both sides find themselves in the relegation zone and the Canaries are one of just two teams without a win. Victory would lift them off the bottom of the table and they might not get a better chance to notch three points than against a Leeds side who’s only win has come against fellow strugglers Watford.
Patrick Bamford has been a big miss for the Yorkshire club but Raphinha could be back in the starting line-up and is capable of swinging the match in Marcelo Bielsa’s side’s favour. Leeds are even money to claim the three points while Norwich are 13/5.
The 4.30 match features two teams in contrasting form. Aston Villa have lost their last three whereas West Ham have won their last three and have the chance to draw level on points with Manchester City in third place.
The Hammers have enjoyed an excellent start to the season but tougher tests lie ahead as they’ve only played one team in the current top eight in the table (1-2 v Man Utd). However they’ve fared really well against teams in the bottom half and are unbeaten in four away from home (W3 D1). David Moyes will preside over his 999th match in fotball mangement and his side could be value at 6/4 to win at Villa Park.
