Manchester City and Arsenal traded places at the top of the Premier League table again yesterday when a Kevin De Bruyne free-kick handed City the three points at Leicester.
Today it’s the Gunners’ chance to reclaim top spot with a win over Nottingham Forest. Mikel Arteta’s side have exceeded expectations so far this season and have a 100% record at home in the league with five wins from five.
They should make it six from six this afternoon against a Forest side who have shown some resilience in recent weeks. A surprise 1-0 win over Liverpool last week followed a 0-0 draw at well-drilled Brighton but they’ve yet to win on the road and it’s unlikley they’ll pick up their first three points away from home today.
The bookies are taking no chances with Arsenal, pricing them up at 1/5 so we need to look elsewhere for some value in this one.
Despite their good home form, Arsenal have yet to keep a clean sheet at the Emirates this season, however Forest have managed just one goal in 540 minutes (6 matches) on the road so an Arsenal win to nil at 5/6 could be the most profitable angle.
Gabriel Jesus is a man in form and he’s 5/6 to add to his five Premier League goals to date for the Gunners.
Today’s other Premier League match sees Man Utd welcome West Ham to Old Trafford.
For all the criticism that’s come United’s way this season they’re still within touching distance of the top three. Win their two games in hand they’ll leap above Newcastle in fourth and draw level on points with third-placed Spurs.
They can and should win at 4/6, against former manager David Moyes’ West Ham this afternoon. The Scotsman has never won as away manager at Old Trafford (D4 L11) so it doesn’t bode well for the visitors despite the fact they’ve been in good form themselves, winning six of their last eight.
United have a good record in the fixture, winning five of the last six meetings and are aiming to make it eight without defeat in all competitions since they lost 6-3 to Manchester City.
Double them up with Arsenal for an even money double.
