IT’S down to Italy and Portugal as the major European nations finally wrap up season 2019-2020.
The English Premiership ends on Sunday and much of the betting focus will be on those games.
But there are important matches in Italy and Portugal with issues to be settled at the top and bottom.
In Serie A the title race should have been over but Juventus blew it big style when they lost in the final minute at Udinese on Thursday.
That leaves the Old lady five points clear of Atalanta and facing a second chance to make it nine in a row at home to Sampdoria tomorrow.
A draw will mean they can’t be caught because in the event of teams finishing on the same points the deciding factor is head to heads and not goal difference. Juve lead the former 5-3 while Atalanta’s GD is better by 16.
Juve’s latest loss was a surprise but they have been conceding goals – seven in their last five with just one clean sheet.
Samp have netted on four of their last six visits to Turin and 10 in their last four so there should be goals.
Back Juve to get it right this time and win with over 2.5 goals scored at 7-4 with bet365 and Betfred.
I correctly tipped Cristiano Ronaldo to score first last week and the Portuguese can set Juventus on their way again. He is 5-2 at McBookie to break the deadlock.
My Serie A both to score doubles have been going well and last week’s won at 9-5.
To be fair the strikers have been making it easy for me with eight out of nine landing last weekend.
On Sunday I like the look of Verona v Lazio and Bologna v Lecce as well as the clash at Juventus.
Verona games have brought up this market in six out of seven and while Lazio’s form has dipped badly they’ve netted 10 on their last four visits to Verona.
Lecce have conceded a league-high 77 goals and look set for another loss at a Bologna side who had six games that saw both scoring before losing 1-0 at Atalanta in midweek.
A nice 3-1 win against Brescia all but relegated their rivals in midweek and Lecce trail Genoa by four points in the battle to beat the drop.
Both to score has trapped in six of their last seven and they can get on the scoresheet at Bologna with the double paying 7-5 at William Hill.
Porto won the Portuguese League weeks back and will be joined in the Champions League by Benfica.
Sporting travel to rivals Benfica tomorrow and you have to expect the home side will be all out for a win that will allow Braga to claim third spot and an automatic Europa League place if they see off Porto at home.
The fixture computer has done well here to come up with Benfica v Sporting and Braga v Porto on the final day – it’s just a pity there will be no fans.
A double on Benfica and Braga pays a tasty 22-5 at William Hill.
Super Single
