LEAGUE ONE takes centre stage in the SPFL this weekend with the top two tiers taking a breather due to the League Cup action.
Queen’s Park v Dumbarton
And there are some fascinating games with new boys Queen’s Park looking to continue their good start with a win over fellow high flyers Dumbarton.
Both teams have four points after two games, with the Sons sitting top of the pile on goal difference.
Few people tipped Dumbarton to be in title contention after they narrowly dodged the drop in the play-offs last term.
But they crushed Clyde 3-0 in their opener and followed it up by coming from 2-0 down to salvage a point against Airdrieonians.
This clash with the Spiders will be another big challenge and the Sons are 6/1 outsiders at McBookie.
I cashed in by backing under 2.5 goals when Queen’s played Cove last weekend and it came up in a 2-0 win for the Spiders.
Laurie Ellis’ men have kept clean sheets in three of their seven games this term and conceded just four goals in total.
So a home to nil today appeals at 6/4 with McBookie while under 2.5 goals pays 10/11.
Airdrieonians v Falkirk
Falkirk are desperate to end their stay in the third tier and Paul Sheerin’s men also sit on four points.
They travel to Airdrie today and look decent value at 8/7 with SBK to chalk up an important win.
The Diamonds were battered 3-0 at home by Montrose on day one and that draw with Dumbarton will have felt like a defeat as they blew a two-goal lead.
But Airdrie showed what they are capable of by beating Motherwell 2-0 in the League Cup group stage.
So I fancy BTTS here at 5/6 with Mansionbet while Falkirk’s Callum Morrison appeals for anytime scorer at 6/4 with McBookie.
Clyde v Alloa Athletic
Going for goals looks the shout as Clyde host Alloa Athletic, with the Bully Wee conceding in their last six.
Alloa netted three in their last outing against East Fife so I fancy BTTS here at evens with Bet365 while over 2.5 goals is 11/10.
Cove Rangers v East Fife
Cove need a win at home to East Fife and I’m doubling it with BTTS at 23/10 with McBookie.
Montrose v Peterhead
Montrose are 21/20 with McBookie to win at home to Peterhead and that looks decent value.
Forfar Athletic v Ketly Hearts
The big game in League Two sees title favourites Kelty travel to Forfar.
Kevin Thomson’s men are too short for me at 13/17 with SBK as relegated Forfar will provide a tough test.
The Loons have won two in a row without conceding so I’m going for under 2.5 goals at 23/20 (McBookie).
Cowdenbeath v Stranraer
Cowdenbeath’s Liam Buchanan has six goals from seven games this term so I fancy him to score at home to Stranraer. That bet pays 6/4 at McBookie.
Super Singles
- Queen’s Park win to nil (6/4, McBookie)
- Liam Buchanan to score in Cowdenbeath v Stranraer (6/4, McBookie)
BTTS Double
- Cove v East Fife & Clyde v Alloa (28/10, Bet365).
McBookie Bet Builder
- Queen’s Park win with a Simon Murray goal against the Sons pays 265/100.
