Nevertheless this weekend I think bookies have overeacted to Celtic’s missing players and odds of 4/7 about them at home to Livingston look very fair.
Neil Lennon’s makeshift side had the lion’s share of possession against Hibs in midweek and only Kevin Nisbet’s 90th-minute goal prevented the Bhoys from taking all three points.
And looking at Celtic’s starting 11 against Hibs ask yourself how many Livingston players would get into that Celtic side in midweek?
Not too many, if any, so I think for a change Celtic rate really good value at their current odds and as a result there ought to be some first goalscorer value too.
And I actually don’t see too much point in deserting Turnbull, who did us such a good turn in midweek.
As mentioned last week, the former Motherwell midfielder seems to have won the battle to start ahead of the ageing Scott Brown (obviously Brown was unavailable in midweek) and Lennon has been rewarded with five goals form Turnbull’s last eight games.
So good have Turnbull’s performances been, that punters have backed him into 5/6 from 4/1 in the last two weeks to make Scotland’s 23-man squad for the Euros.
McBookie make him 5/1 to score the opening goal this Saturday.
Charlie Adam (Dundee)
Dundee got lucky in the Scottish Cup last weekend when they needed a last minute equaliser to force extra time against Lowland side Bonnyrigg. However, they had previously been in good form and should be able to beat an inconsistent Ayr side.
Charlie Adam is head and shoulders above everyone in the league and looks a good bet at 5/1 to score the first goalCan you find a winner!
