Real Sociedad have the opportunity to climb to the top of La Liga this weekend with rivals Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid not playing.
The Madrid duo appealed for their games against Athletic Bilbao and Granada to be postponed due to the unavailability of their South American stars.
The Spanish Superior Sports Council upheld La Liga’s request so Real and Atletico, who sit first and second respectively, can rest up this weekend ahead of their return to Champions League action in midweek.
Sociedad Set Sights on Top Spot
Real Sociedad have made a fine start to 2021-22, keeping pace with Los Blancos and Atleti, with all three clubs sitting on 17 points.
La Real have lost just one of their opening eight games, winning five, and they look primed to pick up another victory when they host 12th placed Mallorca on Saturday.
The Basque outfit are 5/12 to come out on top in the 20:00 kick-off against 7/1 Mallorca, while the draw is priced at 18/5.
They have the second-best home record in La Liga, picking up 10 points from a possible 12 and are yet to concede a goal in San Sebastian, although they have only scored three times.
Mallorca have only registered twice in their three away games, therefore, backing a Sociedad win and under 2.5 goals at 9/4 could be the way to go.
Levante to Snap Losing Streak
Levante are yet to pick up a win this season, losing four and drawing four but they have a huge opportunity to put the record straight when they host Getafe.
Los Granotes head into Saturday’s 17:30 clash sitting 18th with just four points but they are still three clear of rock-bottom Getafe, who have lost seven of their eight fixtures.
The Valencia-based outfit have lost three in a row without scoring but two of those games came on the road and they’ll welcome a return to home soil, where they will also have new boss Javi Pereira in the dugout.
Getafe are the second-lowest scorers in the league, registering on just three occasions, and they have drawn a blank in three of four away from the capital.
Levante are unbeaten in nine meetings when hosting Getafe, keeping a clean sheet in each of the last three and backing a win to nil at 3/1 offers plenty of value.
Osasuna to Extend Road Form
Osasuna finished 11th last season but their early 2021-22 form suggests they can challenge much higher up the standings this time around.
They have already collected 14 points from eight games and sit fifth as they prepare for a trip to Villarreal on Sunday at 17:30.
Villarreal are yet to lose this campaign but they are 11th in La Liga after playing out five draws.
Osasuna have won all three of their engagements on the road, beating Cadiz, Alaves and Mallorca, while Villarreal have played out four draws on their own patch.
Backing Osasuna or draw in the double chance market offers appeal at 5/4.
