SlipsTips shares a selection from Tottenham Hotspur’s clash with Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Crystal Palace (Saturday, 15:00)
Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to bounce back from another comically catastrophic display when they come up against Crystal Place on Saturday afternoon.
Last time out, Spurs came back from 3-0 down to equalise in injury time at Liverpool, only for Diogo Jota to grab a winner just 99 seconds later – a result and performance which has typified the hosts’ overall inconsistency this term.
As for Crystal Place, they have been reinvigorated following the reappointment of Roy Hodgson, who has all but steered the Eagles to safety following last week’s 4-3 win over West Ham.
With Tottenham in turmoil they make little appeal as general 4/5 chances here, so I’m going to bypass the outright betting and I’m instead head to the goalscorer market.
One of the few shining lights for Spurs this season has been the goalscoring form of Harry Kane and the England skipper looks an attractive option to strike on Saturday at 21/20 (Betfair).
The Spurs sharpshooter became the club’s all-time top scorer when he bagged his 200th Premier League strike earlier on this season, not to mention only Erling Haaland has scored more goals than the England captain in the top-flight this term.
While Crystal Palace have demonstrated marked improvement since making the move to bring back the aforementioned Hodgson, they have failed to shut out their opponents in four of their last six outings, leaking three at home to West Ham last Saturday.
That doesn’t bode well ahead of a trip to a Tottenham team who for all their shortcomings, have only failed to score in four of their 34 Premier League matches this season so far, with Harry Kane helping himself to 25 goals across that sample.
It’s also worth pointing out that the aforementioned Kane has been the scourge of Palace in recent years, netting 10 times in 17 games against the south Londoners, including a brace in January’s reverse fixture.
With all this in mind, coupled with the fact that Kane will be on spot kick duty, backing Tottenham’s main man to make the net bulge on Saturday makes plenty of appeal at 21/20 (Betfair).
Recommended Bet
- Harry Kane to Score Anytime – 21/20 (Betfair)
