After tipping up two winners from three in his featured column on Saturday, SlipsTips shares a double ahead of Sunday’s round of Scottish Premiership fixtures.
Aberdeen vs Celtic (Sunday, 12:00)
Two teams in desperate need of a lift lock horns on Sunday lunchtime, as Aberdeen play host to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.
The Dons are enduring their lousiest run of form in over a decade, while Celtic are in the midst of their worst start to a league season this century.
As such, both teams are bound to be right up for this televised tussle and I’m going to back Stephen Glass’ side to collect two or more bookings as the first half of a 23/20 (PaddyPower) double.
Aberdeen are averaging 2.4 yellow cards per-game in the top-flight this term, with the Pittodrie outfit picking up two or more cards in four of their last five Scottish Premiership assignments.
Celtic attacking with ravenous intent has quickly become customary under new boss Ange Postecoglou’s stewardship and hosts Aberdeen may deploy the dark arts in an attempt to tame the Hoops gung-ho tactics.
The Bhoys have drawn two or more bookings from three of their last four domestic opponents and I fancy confidence-stricken Aberdeen to follow suit and have at least two names taken by referee Bobby Madden in the Granite City on Sunday.
Rangers vs Hibernian (Sunday, 15:00)
Rangers will be looking to rediscover their mojo when they meet Hibernian at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday
Steven Gerrard’s side sauntered to a first Scottish crown in 10 years last term, but the Light Blues have blown hot and cold this season so far.
That being said, Rangers started the weekend at the summit of the standings, but they are sure to face a stern test when high-flying Hibs roll into Govan.
Jack Ross’ team is still to taste defeat in the league this season and I’m going to complete the aforementioned 23/20 (PaddyPower ) double by backing the capital club to hit over two corners during this contest.
Hibs are averaging a lofty 6.43 corners per-game this season, a tally only bettered by both of the Old Firm, not to mention Gerrard’s Gers have conceded 3+ corners in five of their opening seven league games of the season
The in-form Hibees have hit the 3+ flag kick line in all seven of their outings thus far and they look well equipped to repeat the trick against a Rangers team that are having to juggle domestic and European commitments.
Recommended Bet
- Aberdeen vs Celtic – Over 1.5 Aberdeen Cards
- Rangers vs Hibernian – Over 2.5 Hibernian Corners
- Double (23/20, PaddyPower)
