SlipsTips shares a selection ahead of St Mirren’s meeting with Rangers in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon.
St Mirren vs Rangers (Saturday, 12:30)
Both St Mirren and Rangers head into their final Scottish Premiership fixture on Saturday afternoon with very little to play for as the season reaches its climax.
Stephen Robinson’s hosts have enjoyed a quietly impressive campaign and took part in the top-six for the first time in their modern history, though they did lose 3-0 at Aberdeen in midweek.
Rangers, on the other hand, are guaranteed to finish in second spot and trophyless, though it would appear manager Michael Beale has brought a sense of optimism back to Ibrox ahead of next season, despite seeing his side concede a last-gasp equaliser in Wednesday’s 2-2 draw with Hearts.
I’ve already penned a separate match preview on this Paisley fixture but I’ve since identified another angle of attack that I’m happy to get on board with.
St Mirren have been priced up at 10/11 (Bet 365) to hit Over Three Corners during this contest and that price holds plenty of appeal.
The Buddies have been fairly strong corner performers this season, averaging 5.24 per-game, a tally that increases to 5.67 when going about their business at their St Mirren Park base.
In fact, Stephen Robinson’s side have managed to cover the 4+ flag kick line in a hefty 16 of their 18 Scottish Premiership home matches this season so far, with the only two exceptions coming in games in which they had been reduced to 10-men.
What’s more, the Saints have clocked up a minimum of four corners in each of their previous three matches with Rangers this season, two of which were at Ibrox, with the most recent encounter taking place in Govan just over one month ago.
It’s also worth pointing out that visitors Rangers have conceded at least four corners in six of their last eight outings across all competitions, a sample that includes April’s aforementioned meeting between the pair.
Taking all of this into account, backing St Mirren to earn over three corners on Saturday at a shade under evens is a price that looks particularly enticing.
