After seeing his Saturday selection sail home with just 19 minutes on the clock, SlipsTips has another Bookings Points bet for us ahead of Sunday’s batch of Scottish Premiership fixtures.
Dundee vs Hibernian (Sunday, 12:00)
Hibs will be looking to make it three Scottish Premiership wins on the spin when they take on Dundee at Dens Park on Saturday afternoon.
I’ve already penned a separate match preview on this City of Discovery dust-up but I’m also going to factor this fixture into the first half of an even-money (SkyBet) double.
Jack Ross’ side have taken maximum points in the Scottish Premiership so far while newly-promoted Dundee are searching for their first win of the season.
That said, Dundee’s early-season disciplinary record coupled with a bumper Dens Park crowd should contribute to a competitive contest in front of the TV cameras.
The Dark Blues have clocked up 30+ booking points in each of their last three matches while Hibs and Motherwell shared eight cards between them on the opening weekend of the season.
With that in mind, as well as the fact that referee Alan Muir has flashed 3+ cards in 11 of his last 12 matches, 30+ booking points will form part one of my punt.
St Johnstone vs Dundee United (Sunday, 15:00)
A tasty Tayside derby takes place at McDiarmid Park on Sunday as St Johnstone square off with Dundee United.
Callum Davidson’s crew continue to defy the odds on the continental stage but juggling Thursday and Sunday football could be attributed to the Saints sharing the points in their opening two Scottish Premiership assignments of the season.
Dundee United, on the other hand, will make the short trip to Perth in high spirits after ending Rangers’ 40 game unbeaten Premiership run last time out.
Tam Courts team will be roared on by a large traveling support on Sunday in what is expected to be a pulsating encounter and fantastic atmosphere.
Each of the four league games that these two teams have contested collectively this term have featured three or more cautions so I’m more than happy to complete my even-money (SkyBet) double with 30+ McDiarmid Park booking points.
What’s more, we also have a favourable referee appointment in Don Robertson who was one of the more card-happy operators in Scotland last season, averaging over three cards per-game.
