Scottish football fanatic SlipsTips shares two angles of attack ahead of Saturday’s round of SPFL fixtures.
St Johnstone vs Aberdeen (Saturday, 15:00)
Two sides that have struggled for consistency so far this season meet at McDiarmid Park on Saturday afternoon as St Johnstone play host to Aberdeen.
The Saints’ campaign has fallen very short compared to the heights which they reached last year, while Aberdeen, despite winning their last two league games, have had a string of good and bad results thus far.
The Dons will have their backers here at a general 7/5 but I’m going to steer clear of the outright betting and instead side with 0ver 3.5 cards at 5/6 with McBookie.
Callum Davidson’s side are averaging 2.67 yellows per-game this term, a tally only marginally topped by Motherwell, while Aberdeen are earning 2.06 cautions per 90, a figure that increases to 2.75 on the road.
What’s more, all seven of the Perth sides’ top flight home games this season have featured four or more cards, while the same wager has copped in all but one of Aberdeen’s eight away-days to date.
With that in mind, coupled with the fact referee Greg Aitken has flashed a minimum of four cards in each of his five Scottish Premiership outings this season, odds of 5/6 (McBookie) about Over 3.5 Cards looks slightly overpriced.

Kelty Hearts vs Albion Rovers (Saturday, 15:00)
Kelty Hearts will be looking to stretch their advantage at the top of Scottish League Two when they welcome Albion Rovers to Central Park on Saturday.
Kevin Thomson’s runaway leaders remain the only senior side in Scotland to boast an unbeaten league record, while one win in four has left the visitors floundering in the bottom three.
Unsurprisingly, the odds about a straight home win look very short, but combining over one Kelty Hearts goal with under two Albion Rovers goals will bring about a nice looking 4/5 (Bet 365) Bet Builder.
The Maroon Machine have been motoring away at the head of the pack in their maiden season as an SPFL club, boasting the division’s deadliest attack and making the net bulge at least twice in eight of their 14 outings so far.
Rovers, on the other hand, have the joint-second worst defensive record in the fourth-tier, and they have posted just once clean sheet away from their Coatbridge base this term, which doesn’t bode well ahead of a trip to Thomson’s table-toppers.
The aforementioned combination has clicked in three of Kelty’s four home league wins this season and it would have also paid out when the pair crossed paths in September, all of which adds to the appeal of supporting the same 4/5 (Bet 365) formula in Fife on Saturday.
