The Champions League resumes on Tuesday night and I’m looking to follow up on Sunday’s night’s winner from the Stadio San Paolo.
PSG vs RB Leipzig (Tuesday, 20:00)
PSG came closer than they ever have before to lifting that elusive Champions League trophy last season but they run the risk of a shock early exit if they lose to RB Leipzig on Tuesday night.
Thomas Tuchel’s star-studded side were outplayed when falling to a 2-1 defeat at home to Man United and they lost their discipline last time out in a 2-1 loss in the reverse fixture.
Consequently, the French heavyweights qualification hopes are dangling dangerously and they dare not lose this dust-up with Julian Naglesmann’s men who occupy second spot in the section.
Leipzig lit up the Champions League last term when charging towards the last-four of Europe’s elite club competition and they demonstrated their big-game mettle when putting the Parisians to the sword on Matchday Three.
However, the Red Bulls were ruthlessly cut apart by Man United during a 5-0 trouncing at Old Trafford and they have since suffered Bundesliga setbacks in two of their last three domestic bouts.
With that in mind, coupled with what’s at stake here, I’m going to steer clear of outright markets in this match, however, I do fancy goals to flow when last season’s semi-finalists collide in the French capital.
There is little value in backing BTTS at a general 1/2, however, the combination of both teams to score and each team to collect over zero cards looks a lot more attractive at 20/23 with Bet 365.
Both teams have obliged in two of PSG’s three Group H outings thus far and Leipzig’s chances of making the net bulge on Tuesday night should be boosted by Tuchel’s extensive absentee list.
Leipzig chief Naglesmann has defensive selection headaches of his own and that does bode well for a Red Bulls rearguard who have registered just one clean sheet in their last six attempts.
What’s more, five of Leipzig’s last six tussles at Europe’s top table have featured three or more strikes and the German guests will be hard tasked when trying to tame the French champions famed front three.
Given the attacking threat that both sides carry a highly entertaining contest is expected in Paris and there is plenty potential for cynical fouls in a meeting that holds particular significance to both respective sides quests for qualification.
It’s also worth noting that the above-mentioned Bet Builder landed comfortably during the most recent meeting and I see no reason to oppose a repeat here in what should be another enthralling encounter.
Recommended Bet
- Both Teams To Score, PSG Over 0 Cards & RB Leipzig Over 0 Cards – Bet Builder – 20/23 (Bet 365)
