Kelty Hearts will be looking to further strengthen their spot at the top of the Scottish League Two table when they entertain Edinburgh City on Saturday afternoon.
The Maroon machine have been in imperious form so far this season, losing just once in 18 league outings to motor away at the head of the pack in their maiden season as an SPFL club.
As such, the ambitious Fife outfit are sitting on a comfortable seven-point lead at the summit of the standings and it is difficult to see them being stopped in their pursuit of the title.
Already sitting 19 points adrift of runaway leaders Kelty, fifth-placed Edinburgh City are realistically out of the title race, but they still have plenty to play for over the coming months.
Unsurprisingly, the odds about a straight home win look very short here, but merging over one Kelty Hearts goal with under two Edinburgh strikes will bring about a nice looking 4/5 (Bet 365) Bet Builder.
As already alluded to, Kevin Thomson’s team have tasted defeat in the league on only one occasion this season, having racked up 14 wins and three draws from their opening 18 contests of the campaign to put an eye-catching 45 points on the board.
Their impressive season so far has been owing to their solid display at both ends of the pitch as they boast the division’s meanest attack with 41 goals scored, while conceding just 15 at the defensive end of the pitch.
Edinburgh, on the other hand, have triumphed in just one of their last six tier four tussles, with the shaky Citizens earning a mere three clean sheets across their opening 19 assignments of the season.
What’s more, Gary Naysmith’s guests have failed to shut out their opponents in each of their last 15 matches across all competitions, which doesn’t bode well ahead of a trip to Thomson’s table-toppers.
With that in mind, coupled with the fact that the aforementioned combination has clicked in each of Kelty’s last four victories, I’m more than happy to support the same 4/5 (Bet 365) formula in Fife on Saturday.
