Patrick Thistle are beginning to find their feet in League 1 and I fancy them to further press their title claims when they face Peterhead at Firhill on Saturday.

Partick Thistle are six points off the top of the League 1 table and they will be looking to reduce the arrears when they play host to Peterhead on Saturday.
Falkirk are setting the early pace in the third-tier but their match with Airdrie has been moved to Sunday, so this fixture represents a good opportunity for Ian McCall’s men to turn up the heat on the Bairns.
The Firhill outfit have won three of their last four League 1 fixtures to help ease the pressure on boss McCall after a stuttering start to the season.
Last time out the men from Maryhill squeezed past Forfar with a 1-0 win at Station Park and they will fancy their chances of making it back-to-back wins when Peterhead come to town.
Jim McInally’s men have made a mixed start to the season and begin the weekend in seventh place after edging past East Fife with a 2-1 win last Saturday.
Indeed, the Blue Toon will be buoyed by that result but a trip to Firhill represents a serious upgrade on last week’s challenge, however, there is little value in backing the hosts a general 4/9.
I’ll therefore head to the Bet Builder market to get a bigger price and combine Patrick Thistle to win, over 1 Partick Thistle goal and over five match corners, a 10/11 shot with Bet 365.
McCall’s men have made the net bulge at least twice in three of their last five league outings and that does not bode well for a Blue Toon backline that have recorded just two clean sheets in their last 11 matches across all competitions.
With that in mind, I’m happy to back Partick to put Peterhead to the sword on Saturday by scoring at least two goals, but I’ll also add in over five match corners to boost up the price.
Patrick are averaging 6.38 team corners per game this term- the highest tally in the division – and their matches are generating almost 11 flag kicks per 90 minutes.
It’s also worth noting that the above-mentioned Bet Builder has banked in three of Thistle’s four wins this season and that only adds to the appeal of siding with the same formula at Firhill on Saturday.
