SlipsTips has lined up a Bet Builder double ahead of Tuesday’s two Euro 2020 fixtures.
Hungary vs Portugal (Tuesday, 17:00)
Portugal begin their pursuit of a second successive European Championship with a clash against Hungary on Tuesday evening.
I’ve already penned a separate match preview for this Budapest bout which can be found here, but I’m also going to factor this fixture into the first half of my Bet Builder double.
Fernando Santos will have earmarked this fixture as one to win given that the Selecao are housed in this year’s Group of Death.
However, Portugal have a stronger squad than they did when lifting their first-ever major trophy in 2016 and they should kick-off with a morale-boosting three points at the Puskas Arena
With that in mind, I’ll back Santos’ star-studded side to get on the scoresheet here, but I’ll complete the first half of my double with over zero Hungary cards.
Marco Rossi’s men were averaging a lofty 2.84 cards per game en-route to this summer’s showpiece and they are bound to be right up for this one in front of a boisterous Budapest support.
France vs Germany (Tuesday, 20:00)
France begin their Euro 2020 campaign with a mouthwatering meeting against Germany in Munich on Tuesday night.
The French are worthy outright favourites to add the European crown to their World Cup triumph of three years ago if they can navigate their way through Group F.
Germany, on the other hand, are not the force of old and appear to be in a state of transition ahead of Joachim Low’s final tournament as manager of Die Mannschaft.
However, the Germans have home advantage throughout the group stage and Tuesday night’s clash of the titans is the biggest game of the tournament so far.
With that in mind, I’m going to complete the second-half of my 19/20 (Bet 365) double by backing both teams to see at least one card on Tuesday night.
France were averaging 1.48 cards per game during qualification, with the Germans seeing 1.24 cautions per 90 minutes, not to mention card-happy referee Carlos Del Cerro Grande was flashing almost five cards per game this term.
