THERE are just two fixtures from the Swedish Allsvenskan on Saturday afternoon but I’m hoping to follow up on last Sunday’s corner success as Ostersund face Falkenbergs, while Varbergs Bois play host to Sirius.
Ostersund vs Falkenbergs (Saturday 14:00)
In-form Ostersund will be looking to maintain their recent momentum when they meet Falkenbergs at the Jaemtkraft Arena on Saturday afternoon.
Ian Burchnall’s men found themselves occupying a position in the bottom three at the start of the month, however, three wins on the spin has shot OFK up into ninth place in the Swedish Allsvenskan.
Falkenbergs, meanwhile, find themselves in the relegation playoff spot following a wretched run of just one win from their last 12 Swedish top-flight assignments.
Indeed, Hans Eklund’s side have found points hard to come by in recent weeks, however, the same can’t be said of their eye-catching corner kick count.
Falkenbergs have hit five or more corners in each of their last six league matches – a sample that includes tussles with the current top-two in the table, namely, Malmo and Elfsborg.
FFF have hit five, six, six, eight, seven and most recently five corners away at high-flying Malmo and with that in mind I was pleasantly surprised to see over 4.5 Falkenberg corners here trading at 11/10 with Betway.
What’s more, Ostersund have conceded five or more corners in each of their last six fixtures and it’s worth noting that these two teams sit second and third respectively in the total match corners table – all of which adds to the appeal of having a play on the above-mentioned bet.
Varbergs Bois vs Sirius (Saturday 14:00)
Sirius will be targeting a fourth consecutive Swedish Allsvenskan victory when they travel to Paaskbergsvallen on Saturday afternoon to face Varbergs Bois.
Henrik Rydstrom’s side go into the latest round of fixtures sitting sixth in the table where they find themselves just two points behind second-placed Elfsborg.
Standing in Sirius’ way on Saturday is a Varbergs outfit who picked up their first league victory in eight attempts last weekend when fighting back to edge out Orebro 2-1 at this venue.
From a betting perspective I’m again going to delve into the corner markets with the view to backing the visitors to hit five or more corners in this match.
Sirius are averaging 4.9 corners per-game this season, while tho hosts are conceding 4.8 corners per-game and after Sirius hit five corners in their recent meeting with Varbergs, I’m happy to side with a repeat on Saturday at 11/10 with Betway.
Varbergs have conceded five or more corners in seven of their last eight Swedish Allsvenskan assignments, while Sirius have racked up 18 corners across their last three road trips – an average of six corners per-game.
What’s more, both sides played out a thrilling 3-3 draw just over two weeks ago and that coupled with the fact that Verbergs’ last five league matches have featured over 2.5 match goals will hopefully lead to another action-packed encounter, which in turn could help boost the Sirius corner count.
