The World Cup may be looming large but it’s business as usual for SlipsTips who is back to share a selection from Clyde’s clash with Falkirk in Scottish League One on Saturday.

Falkirk will look to remain within touching distance of Scottish League One leaders Dunfermline when they travel to Clyde on Saturday afternoon.
The Bairns bounced back from a bruising 1-0 defeat at the hands of their table-topping rivals by putting in a professional performance to earn a 2-0 win over Edinburgh last weekend.
As for ninth-placed Clyde, they felt the full force of the new manager bounce in their last outing as they battled to a 2-2 draw with the aforementioned Dunfermline.
It’s a homecoming for Jim Duffy this weekend who has re-joined his former club following the dismissal of Danny Lennon, with the Bully Wee 17/5 (UniBet) outsiders while the draw pays 14/5 (UniBet) with the same firm.
Falkirk, on the other hand, head into this fixture as 4/5 favourites with Betfair and I’m more than happy to back the away team to prevail at that price.
Following Falkirk’s aforementioned loss to Dunfermline, John McGlynn’s men can ill afford to drop any more points if they are to launch a genuine title bid this season.
While there were plenty of positives for Clyde to take away from last week’s performance against the Pars, they remain winless in the league since August having failed to claim top honours in each of their last 12 League One outings
What’s more, the Bully Wee blew a two-goal lead last weekend to draw 2-2, meaning that the relegation- threatened hosts have leaked 2+ goals in 12 of their 15 league games this season so far, including 11 of their last 12.
Such defensive fragility doesn’t bode well ahead of a visit from Falkirk side that are the division’s second top-scorers, with the Bairns making the net bulge twice in a joint league-high nine of their 15 tier two tussles this term to date.
It’s also worth noting that Falkirk have had a handy knack of collecting maximum points from their meetings with the two teams detached at the bottom of the table this term, with the Bairns banking nine points from nine across their three fixtures with both Clyde and Peterhead thus far, and I suspect their superior class will tell again.
With all of this in mind, as well as the likelihood of the Bairns being boosted by a bumper travelling support, there’s plenty of evidence to suggest that Falkirk have a stronger chance of triumphing than 4/5 (Betfair) odds imply.
