A lack of Borussia Monchengladbach corners brought my recent good run to an end last night but I’m aiming to get back to winning ways with a cross-match bet Builder on Wednesday.
Istanbul Basaksehir vs PSG (Wednesday, 17:55)
PSG already have ground to make up in Group H and they can ill-afford another slip-up when they travel to Turkey to take on Istanbul Basaksehir.
Thomas Tuchel’s star-studded side were outplayed last Tuesday night in the Parc Des Princes when falling to a 2-1 defeat at home to Man United.
Consequently, there is room for error when last season’s beaten finalists come up against the reigning Turkish champions on Wednesday evening.
Istanbul Basaksehir endured a Champions League baptism of fire last midweek when losing 2-0 away at Leipzig and I fancy PSG to put the out-of-sorts Turks to the sword on matchday two.
Okan Buruk’s injury-ravaged side have made a stuttering start to their title defence and they have failed to score in five of their last seven matches.
With that in mind, coupled with the fact PSG have hit 14 goals across their last three Ligue 1 fixtures, I’m going to combine over one PSG goal alongside at least one Istanbul Basaksehir booking for the first half of my Bet Builder double.
Borussia Dortmund vs Zenit St Petersburg (Wednesday, 20:00)
Borussia Dortmund will be looking to bounce back from last week’s disappointing loss away at Lazio when they play host to Zenit St Petersburg on Wednesday night.
Lucien Favre’s vibrant young side have been flawless on home turf this term and I fancy the German giants to get their Champions League campaign back on track this midweek.
Standing in Dortmund’s way is a Zenit St Petersburg side who suffered a surprising 2-1 defeat at home to Club Brugge last Tuesday evening.
The Russian heavyweights have failed to win each of their last four domestic away matches and they are winless in five Champions League road trips.
Dortmund have a wealth of attacking talent within their ranks – Favre’s free-scoring side are averaging over three goals per game at Signal Iduna Park this season – and I suspect Zenit will find Erling Haaland and Co too hot to handle.
