Torino vs Spezia (Saturday, 17:00)
Torino will be looking to register their first home win of the season when they welcome Spezia to Turin on Saturday teatime.
Marco Giampaolo’s men are winless in eight Serie A matches on home turf this term and as a result find themselves housed in the relegation zone.
Spezia, meanwhile, will be buoyed by back-to-back victories over Napoli and Sampdoria, and Vincenzo Italiano’s side will fancy their chances of extending that sequence on Saturday.
Goals have been a regular feature in games involving either of these two sides this season and that’s something I’m going to factor into my Bet Builder for this fixture.
If we combine both teams to score, over zero Torino cards and over Spezia cards we will be presented with a nice looking 20/21 shot at Bet 365.
Both teams have obliged in 13/17 of Torino’s Italian top-flight tussles this season and it’s worth mentioning that the Bulls have managed just one shutout across their last 10 Serie A assignments.
Spezia have also found clean sheets hard to come this season, failing to lock out their opponents in each of their last nine league matches, and it’s worth noting that 12 of their 17 contests have ended with both sides getting on the scoreboard.
When digging slightly deeper it can be seen that collectively these two sides have managed just five clean sheets between them this season and that adds to the appeal backing BTTS to bank during this bout.
Given that Torino will be looking to breathe some life into their bid to beat the drop, as well as the fact that Spezia are perched precariously above the bottom-three, I’ll also add in at least one card apiece to the recommended Bet Builder.
Torino are averaging 2.12 yellow cards per game this season, while Spezia are the most ill-disciplined side in Serie A this season with their 3.35 caution per 90 minute average.
What’s more, Michael Fabbri will be the man in the middle on Saturday and the Ravenna-born whistler is averaging five cards per game this term, flashing 5+ cards in 75% of the matches he has officiated this season.
