Sevilla will be looking to further underline their top-four credentials when they visit struggling Eibar in La Liga on Saturday.
That match kick-offs what looks set to be a busy weekend of football in the Spanish top-flight, with four games taking place on both Saturday and Sunday.
More Home Struggles for Eibar
No team in La Liga this season has accumulated fewer points, wins or goals on home soil than Eibar, who have won just one of their 10 top-flight games at the Ipurua, a run that has contributed to them sitting just two points above the relegation zone.
The hosts’ overall form is not exactly much better, as they have only won once in nine league games, while they were dumped out of the Copa del Rey by lower league Navalcarnero earlier this month.
By contrast, Sevilla have lost just two of their last 13 league games, with those sole defeats coming against the top-two in the division, Atletico and Real Madrid.
Julen Lopetegui has also seen his side win four of their last six on the road and they are priced at 21/20
to claim another victory on Saturday.
Villarreal to Add to Growing Sociedad Woes
Villarreal have been in sparkling form under Unai Emery this season, losing just twice in the league, with only one of those losses coming since September.
The Yellow Submarine have been particularly formidable on their own patch, with them yet to lose in any competition at the Estadio de la Ceramica this season, a run that stretches back 13 matches.
The form book certainly suggests Villarreal will continue that unbeaten sequence against a Real Sociedad side that may only sit a place below their hosts in the standings, but their form could not be more contrasting.
Indeed, Imanol Alguacil’s men have only won one of their previous 10 La Liga games, an unwanted sequence that began with a 1-1 draw against Villarreal in the reverse fixture at the Anoeta back in November.
Sociedad have also won just once in their last five matches against Villarreal and we are expecting another victory for the hosts on Saturday at 7/5
.
Atleti to Revert to Type in Cadiz
Atletico Madrid remain the runaway leaders in La Liga, mainly down to their almost immaculate defending. Los Colchoneros have conceded just eight goals from their 18 league games, by far and away the best defensive record in the division.
Diego Simeone’s side haven’t been as watertight of late though, keeping just one clean sheet in their last four, but they will expect to revert to type when they visit Cadiz on Sunday, particularly as they won the reverse meeting 4-0 back in November.
Cadiz are certainly not playing with the same swagger they did at the start of the season, winning just one of their last eight games in La Liga, failing to score in five of those matches.
Given Atleti’s defensive qualities, it is easy to see the hosts drawing another blank on Sunday and the visitors are priced at 5/6
to win to zero. If they do collect all three points, then it will mark their 15th win from their last 16 La Liga games.
