In preparation for the weekend I’ve drawn up a few teams that have made it on to the shortlist for a bit more investigating.
Mr Fixit used to do similar and it’s good discipline to get in to so I’m carrying on that tradition. These aren’t tips (not yet) as some of them may fall off the list the more they’re looked in to.
Anyway, here goes with a line about each of them…
Leicester 21/20 home to Brighton
Leicester 4th in the table against Brighton who’ve won just one in 10. Foxes lost 3/5 at home so price might reflect that but would’ve expected them to be odds on not evens or upwards.
Blackburn v Norwich Over 2.5 Goals
Rovers let me down last night when they drew blank but there’s goals in them especially at home. 4 of 5 of Norwich’s recent games have seen O2.5 and 7 of 9 meetings between the sides have done so too. Best price is 5/6.
Scunthorpe 13/10 away to Southend
Scunthorpe were another to let me down in midweek but would look at them again away to Southend who are almost cut adrift at the bottom already. Scunny W4 D1 L2 in last 7 and worth supporting at 13/10.
Stockport corners v Sutton Utd
One from the notebook this. Stockport are racking up corners at a rate of 8.67 per match in the National League, which makes them among the most prolific in Europe. They’ve been forced in to postponements in recent weeks but back in action at home to Sutton Utd on Saturday. Worth of a closer look if I can find a bookie offering corners markets.
St Johnstone 5/4 home to Livingston
One of the form teams in Scotland at home to one with one of the worst away records. The Premiership has been hard to call this season so this is a tentative especially as St Johnstone’s good form has seen a lot of draws.
Hearts to win to nil 1/1
The Jambos should win most, if not all, home matches in the Championship this season. I want to get on board so need to find a way but not at 2/9. Win to nil against Queen of the South could be an option at even money or thereabouts but the Doonhamers have an OK scoring record. Worth investagting some angles here.
Queen’s Park 1/1
On form Queen’s Park have the chance to make a statement against Edinburgh, who were consider to be promotion rivals. Spiders been in good form and should be shorter than the even money available.
Atletico Madrid 21/10 at Real Madrid
The Madrid Derby on Sunday. Atleti currently 6 points ahead of their city rivals with a game in hand and look big at 21/10. Both sides served up four 0-0s in last 9 so might not be a thriller. Could be a corner angle on Atleti here too.
Crotone v Spezia Cards
Two of the most ill-disciplined sides in Serie A meet on Saturday lunchtime. Both average 2.8 yellows per match a plus Crotone have seen 3 red and Spezia 1. Over 5.5 Cards pays even money at Bet365 – I’d prefer a bet on over 4.5 at a short price so will need to shop around.
Bologna v Roma Corners
Despite being 10th in Serie Bologna have won more corners than anyone (avg 7.2). Roma also on a relatively high 6.0 per match. Over 10 match corners is 5/6 at Bet365.
