With so many dead rubbers on in Wednesday’s Champions League matches we need to pick our way carefully through the fixtures, avoiding teams that don’t need to win and are likely to rest players.
For example Liverpool, on paper very tempting at 10/11 to win at Midtjylland but having already qualified in top spot and in the midst of an injury crisis will field a much-changed starting XI and are best left alone.
Man City v Marseille
Man City also fall in to this catgory although Pep Guardiola has given assurances that he’ll not be resting players for Marseille‘s visit to the Etihad. Let’s wait and see.
Regardless of the line-up we can expect City to dominate at home and the Shots On Target market could be a good way to capitalise on this. Bet365 have set the line at 5.5 for City and over that number has landed in four of their five games in the competition so far.
Ajax v Atalanta
Ajax v Atalanta should throw up a cracker in Amsterdam as both clubs vie for second spot in Group D. The Italians are in the driving seat, one point ahead of Ajax but they’ve struggled to replicate last season’s expoits so far this term, clocking up just two wins in their last nine.
It should be an intruguing night but rather than try to call the winner look to cards for a bet.
Six were doled out between the two sides when both sides met earlier in the group stages and card-happy Carlos del Cerro Grande has brandished 5 reds in 14 matches this season. Back Over 5.5 Cards at 1/1 (Red counts as two cards) with Bet365.
Bristol City v Blackburn
Blackburn have been a terrific team to follow for goals this season. They’re highest scorers in the Championship with 31 goals and have netted two or more in ten of their 16 league matches.
The division’s joint-top goalscorer Adam Armstrong has banged in 14 goals so far and at 11/10 Rovers are backable to nab a couple, or more, at Bristol City.
Norwich City v Nottingham Forest
Top of the table Norwich should have too much for struggling Nottingham Forest who have won just one point from their last possible 15. They’re as short as 7/10 at Bet365 but you can still grab 4/5 at the likes of Marathonbet and Sportingbet.
Haugesund v Bodø/Glimt
In Norway, runaway champions Bodø/Glimt travel to nothing-to-play-for Haugesund. Glimt have blown the opposition away this season, setting umpteen records along the way and 100 Eliteserien goals is well within their sights.
Currently on 96 with two games to go they can add to that tally tonight. Back them to win and score 2 or more on a Bet365 BetBuilder at 20/23
