ROSS COUNTY can win a huge six-pointer against Dundee United on Saturday and lay down a marker in the relegation battle.
The two bottom sides in the Premiership face off in Dingwall and neither dares contemplate losing.
But while County seem to have improved recently since the end of the transfer window and have picked up important points, there’s a real bad feeling swirling around Tannadice now.
That culminated with an ill-tempered AGM this week with fans demanding sports director Tony Asghar leave the club and there are serious doubts on the park too with question marks about the future of manager Liam Fox.
Their self-inflicted loss to St Johnstone last week was their fifth in a row and included home and away defeats to fellow strugglers Kilmarnock, with one of those in the Scottish Cup.
County put Killie to the sword a couple of weeks ago at home and seem to have enough about them under Malky Mackay to understand their predicament and go to war.
And the 13/8 for a Staggies win should be a solid shout.
STENHOUSEMUIR have been going great guns under new manager Gary Naysmith and can continue their run with a win at 7/5 at Bonnyrigg Rose in League Two.
The Ochilview side looked like they would be dragged into a relegation play-off dogfight at the bottom of Scottish football, but the former Everton and Scotland defender has collected some big results.
Since he took charge, Stenny are unbeaten in the league and his only defeat has come against Livingston in the Scottish Cup and they were leading in that game too.
They’ve beaten Elgin City and Albion Rovers and drawn at leaders Dumbarton and at in-form Forfar Atheltic.
Bonnyrigg’s problems have been well documented on here and while they have improved, they have only won once at home since October.
ABERDEEN can get the better of Livingston at 17/20 at home with a win for the Dons enough to put them into the top six.
Barry Robson will again be in charge and while, they barely crossed the halfway line at Celtic last week, they are a different proposition at Pittodrie, where they have already beaten Livi 5-0 earlier this season.
Livingston have been overachieving, as usual, this season, but there are alarm bells in defence having suffered 3-0 defeats two weeks in a row to Rangers, which is understandable and Inverness, which is not.
And the Dons should have enough firepower with the likes of Duk and Bojan Miovski to get the points.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
ROSS COUNTY 13/8
STENHOUSEMUIR 7/5
ABERDEEN 17/20.
