It’s a Friday night fight to the finish in the Championship and PARTICK THISTLE should ensure a playoff spot with a win at Raith Rovers.
With just four points separating five teams from second place Queen’s Park to sixth place Morton, it’s an incredible end to the season. The Spiders of course, could win the title if they can beat Dundee at Ochilview.
Nine of the ten teams have something to play for the title, promotion and relegation play-offs and only one club have a dead rubber..Raith Rovers.
Thistle need a win to guarantee third place and it could even get them second if Queen’s Park don’t win. And Kris Doolan’s side are ending the season like a train with just one defeat in their last 12 matches since he succeeded Ian McCall.
The Jags cruised past Rovers in March and Ian Murray’s side were so depleted last week, they were only able to name one outfield player on his bench.
And Thistle can qualify for the play-offs for the second year in a row with a win at 5/6.
MORTON look a great price at 6/5 to win at Cove Rangers.
The Greenock side must win in Aberdeen and hope other results will go for them, but with fourth and fifth Ayr United at Inverness, they could be ready to take advantage.
Dougie Imrie’s side will be annoyed if the season ends now – they have been one of the form teams and have shown plenty of consistency over the past few months.
Last week, they defeated Queen’s Park with a comeback win and, in truth, were by far the better side for large parts of the game.
Cove need a win to be safe from automatic relegation, but they could be saved anyway if Arbroath beat Hamilton at home.
They have shown fight recently with a win at Arbroath and a battling draw at Dundee, but their home form is atrocious – they have lost five of their last six games at Balmoral Stadium.
DUNDEE UNITED have to be backed at 21/10 to win at St Johnstone in the first game after the split in the Premiership.
Jim Goodwin has somehow managed to get a tune out of a side that looked destined for the drop and United could actually overtake the Saints with a win in Perth.
Steven Fletcher is playing out of his skin at the moment and St Johnstone, under interim manager Steven MacLean, are in danger of getting dragged into a relegation dogfight after collecting just three points out of a possible 21.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
PARTICK THISTLE 5/6
MORTON 6/5
DUNDEE UNITED.21/10.
