KevMac reckons we could be in for another fiery affair at Pittodrie and fancies Killie and St Mirren to build some momentum.
Aberdeen v Rangers
RANGERS cleared a massive hurdle in the title race last weekend and now have to jump another as they take on Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
The 1-0 win over Celtic at Ibrox sent Steven Gerrard’s men 19 points clear and they can move even further ahead tomorrow with the Hoops not in action until Monday night.
I fancied Gers to grab a few goals in the derby but they couldn’t even muster a shot on target, with the winner coming from a Callum McGregor own goal.
It’s the second game in a row they’ve had to dig deep to win without playing well after another 1-0 victory over Hibs at Ibrox.
And it could be a similar story against Aberdeen who have conceded just one goal in their last five matches.
It ended 1-0 to Gerrard’s side on the opening day at Pittodrie and I’m expecting it to be tight again.
Under 2.5 goals is evens with McBookie which looks a good option while a one-goal winning margin for either side is 19/10.
I backed cards in the Old Firm clash and it paid off with Bobby Madden flashing six yellows and one red in a stormy clash.
Sparks usually fly when Rangers face the Dons as well so I’m going to dabble in the card market again.
Alfredo Morelos has been carded five times in clashes against the Dons, including three reds, and is 2/1 with Bet365 to collect another in this one.
Former Celtic star Jonny Hayes won’t be holding back and the Irish ace is an even better 5/1 with the same firm.
Dundee Utd v St Johnstone
The pick of Saturday’s games is the Tayside derby between Dundee United and St Johnstone.
It will be an emotional day as the Tannadice club pay tribute to former boss Jim McLean and they are 9/4 with McBookie to mark the occasion with a victory.
But the last three meetings with Saints have all ended in draws so it may be wiser to back another stalemate at 12/5.
It’s not a fixture that has given fans many thrills of late with three of the last four seeing under 1.5 goals. A repeat here pays 19/10 with McBookie while betting against both teams to score is a best 9/10 at BetVictor.
Kilmarnock v Hamiton
Kilmarnock have been showing signs of life again and would have picked up a second successive victory had a blunder by keeper Danny Rogers not gifted St Mirren a point last weekend.
They now host Hamilton and despite Accies also showing an improvement I’m backing Alex Dyer’s men at 4/6 (Unibet).
St Mirren v Motherwell
St Mirren should also be too strong at home to a Motherwell side in freefall and are 5/4 at McBookie to win.
It could be an open game and over 2.5 goals is 5/4 with McBookie.
Livingston v Ross County
Livingston’s amazing winning run makes them 1/2 favourites at home to Ross County but that’s poor value. I fancy both teams to score instead at 5/4 (McBookie) as the Staggies have improved since John Hughes came in as boss.
