Scottish Premiership Tips: Old Firm could be grass acts

THE Old Firm both slipped up on plastic in their last Premiership outings but should be more comfortable back on the grass on Saturday.

Celtic’s 1-1 draw at Rugby Park was followed by the Boli Bolingoli storm which forced their next two Premiership clashes to be postponed.

With their rivals idle Rangers have the chance to move 11 points clear before the Hoops kick off at Tannadice in the evening.

But Steven Gerrard’s men also failed a test of artificial intelligence at Livingston last weekend, drawing a blank to drop two precious points.

They now face Killie themselves this afternoon but it’s on the lush Ibrox turf instead of the dismal carpet at Rugby Park.

The Ayrshire side have drawn two of their last four games in Govan and a repeat here pays 13-2 at Betfair while a Kilmarnock win is priced 16-1.

But Gers have won both their Ibrox league games 3-0  and should justify their status as 1-6 hot favourites.

Try backing them to win to nil at 20-23 with BetVictor as Gerrard’s side have yet to concede a goal in the league.

Killie will try to frustrate the Ibrox stars and I’m tempted by either a one or two-goal winning margin for Gers, priced 13-5 and 3-1 respectively at Bette.

The promoted side have picked up seven points from their first four games but are rated 14-1 outsiders by Betfair against the Hoops.

Celtic are a best 1-4 with Unibet to win but doubling it with both teams to score increases the odds to 9-4.

Neil Lennon’s men have conceded in both their league games so that’s a decent option.

Hamilton desperately need a result in the Lanarkshire derby with Motherwell after losing their first three games.

They have won on two of their last three visits to Fir Park but are 9-2 outsiders at McBookie.

Well are too short at 4-7 but a win to nil increases the odds to 13-8 and the Steelmen managed to shut out Hibs last week.

St Mirren have kept clean sheets in two of their three games and now host Ross County.

Betting against both teams to score could be the wise choice here and it’s evens at BetVictor.

Aberdeen came out of cold storage with a win in Perth and now host Livingston. Both teams have struggled for goals so try under 2.5 strikes at 8-13 with McBookie.

St Johnstone will bid to bounce back against Hibs on Sunday and I fancy the draw at 5-2 (McBookie).
