WEDNESDAY is all about the Scottish Premiership as we have a rare full card with all 12 sides in action, whilst we also have 7 fixtures from French Ligue One.
Some intriguing matches with Jack Ross’s defensively fragile Hibs travelling to Ibrox to lay a goal shy Rangers and Hearts will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start to 2020 at home to Kilmarnock. I did look at St Mirren to beat Hamilton, I think they will be sticking to these two.
Last night French Ligue 2 as expected was massively underestimated for goals by the bookies as 27 were scored to deliver 4/5 and 13/8 winners, with us being just one goal short for 28+ at 16/1
I like the look of total goals in France again tonight but this time Ligue 1.
Rangers vs Hibernian (KO 7.45pm)
Takes a brave man to back goals in a Rangers game given their horrific form since returning to the winter break, but you don’t turn into a bad team over night and tonight represents a great chance to get back to winning ways against a side who are terrific in attack, but absolutely hopeless defensively.
A poor 2-0 win at home to part time Stranraer in the Scottish cup was followed up by a narrow win against St Mirren, a 2-1 defeat at Hearts and most recently a disappointing 0-0 defeat against Aberdeen to leave the Ibrox side 7 points off the pace in the title race (albeit with a game in hand over Celtic)
They7 really can’t afford any more slip ups and they’ll be pleased Morelos is back after desperately missing his presence due to suspension. That coupled with Tavenier being injured didn’t help but with both back, and Rangers needing a win and a performance, it’s a good game to get involved in
I’m like a broken record but I can’t state enough just how poor defensively Hibs are at the back, i’ts that bad they even let St Mirren score 2 against them on Saturday and for me its maybe not a good time to heading to Ibrox.
Going forward its a completely different story and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Hibs get on the scoresheet at a very reasonable even money.
Taking goals here, its a brave call but Rangers need to win, improvement expected, Hibs a threat in attack but can’t defend.
Recommended Bets:
- Over 3.5 goals
- 131/100 (Marathonbet) (NAP)
- Over 1.5 second half goals
- 3/4 (Marathonbet)
Hearts vs Kilmarnock (KO 7.45pm)
The Jambo’s rescued a point in Perth on Saturday after a second half battering by St Johnstone but it maintains their unbeaten start to the season and they will be hoping to continue their decent run of results at home tonight.
Liam Boyce has been a terrific addition and is two in two for Hearts – the atmosphere at Tyncastle is a lot more positive and although Killie enjoy their trips to the capital, I don’t them leaving with three points tonight.
Killie stopped the rot last week with a much needed 3 points at home to Ross County, but not looking into that too much as County are on a shocking run of results.
I’m expecting Tyncastle to be a much tougher place to visit and I think they’ll get the win here.
Really torn between Hearts to win and Hearts to score 2 but opting for the later, they look far more of an attacking threat, especially with Boyce leading the line.
Recommended Bet:
- Hearts over 1.5 team goals
- 11/10 (Bet365)
Total goals Specials
- All 6 French Ligue 1 matches (6pm) 15+ goals to be scored
- 5/6 (Skybet)
- All 6 Scottish Premiership matches over 1.5 goals
- 4/1 (Skybet)
