APOLOGIES Raith Rovers and Falkirk fans but the match of the night comes from Easter Road as Hibs host Rivals Hearts in a huge game for both clubs
It’s a match I’ve been looking forward to and its two clubs I’ve been keeping close tabs on having tipped them multiple times this season, especially Hibs.
Hib’s are quite rightly favourites but strange things happen in derbies and with Hearts claiming a massive win at home to Rangers on Saturday, it’s probably best looking at the goals corners and card markets.
Elsewhere, there are lower league games in Scotland and whilst I’m not going to back them, Partick Thistle should beat QoS in their relegation tussle at evens.
In England, Billericay are at home which means another stats based over 1.5 second half goals
Hibernian vs Hearts (KO 7.45pm)
The Easter Road faithful were fearing tonight’s game was going to be postponed had Hearts and Rangers ended in a draw on Saturday but they needn’t have worried as the Jambo’s inflicted yet another defeat on Rangers to make it another season without silverware for the Ibrox club.
The match is sold out and we should be in for a cracker with Hibs looking to make in roads on Motherwell and Aberdeen a and Hearts looking to ease their real relegation fears.
Hibs as you know have been terrific for goals and they were terrific to watch as they brushed aside ICT on Friday night. Boyle, Allen, Docherty, McNulty and Doidge are a formidable attacking force and a pleasure to watch, they have pace in abundance and on the counter they are as good as anyone in the league.
It’s a different story at the back though, – I’ve been very critical of Hibs defensive frailties this season especially at home and rightly so. They’ve conceded in 15 of their 18 matches, conceding 2 or more in 11 of those games which is an horrific stat.
Livingston, Ross County, Kilmarnock, St Johnstone, Morton, Dundee United, ICT, have all visited the capital and found the net twice and it still has to be a real concern for Jack Ross. They look extremely vulnerable from crosses and set plays and I’m sure Hearts will be looking to exploit that.
Recent derby matches haven’t lived up to expectation bit I don’t see us being short of action tonight. I really can’t see Hibs keeping a clean sheet and that bodes well for goals as I’d be stunned if Hibs didn’t net at least once. (Over 2.5 goals pays 10/11 is worth taking on).
It’s a Derby match under the floodlights, in front of a full house on what will likely be a wet and slippy pitch, should be no shortage of cards – the way Hibs break at pace is going to be a tough to contain and I can see Hearts receiving a few cards (jut ask ICT). Kevin Clancy is the man in the middle and he has shown 17 yellows and 2 reds in is last 4 games.
Be interesting to see how the Hearts rear-guard cope with Hibs pace – Michael Smith looks the best shout for a card (Will put some player cards up once I see the line-ups).
Been no shortage of corners in Hibs home games and I feel the bet builder is the best way to go here.
Recommended bets:
- Over 1.5 goals, Over 7.5 corners, Over 3 cards
- 21/20 (Bet365) (NAP)
Billericay vs Havant &Waterlooville (KO 7.45pm)
8 Billericay’s last 10 home games have seen at least two second half goals – I’ve been on the last 4 and taking it again tonight in what is a massive game for both sides
Recommended Bet
- Over 1.5 second half goals
- 5/6 (Bet365)
