IT was a good day for punters on Saturday and I was delighted to see both my Hib’s bets land in a 3-1 win against Motherwell which got the Jack Ross era off to a flying start.

St Johnstone vs Aberdeen (KO 3pm)
A last minute winner by St Mirren on Saturday sent St Johnstone to the foot of the Scottish Premiership and whilst I don’t expect my team to be there come the end of the season, there’s a good chance they will still be there come 4.45pm on Sunday.
Tommy Wrights side have really struggled defensively this season, something that’s never been said at any point about a Saints side over the last 10 years. It’s a really weak inexperienced back 4 and is void of any winners – that’s backed up by the fact they have they worst defensive record in the league with 28 goals conceded after just 12 games.
Some of the goals conceded this season have been criminal and with just one clean sheet this season, Aberdeen will be licking their lips at the prospect of playing a side who have conceded 2 or more goals in 8 of their 12 league games and more worryingly for St Johnstone, struggling Ross County, St Mirren, Livingston, and Hamilton have all managed that feat.
Aberdeen travel down the A90 in fine fettle as they look to make 4 wins on the spin and that has certainly silenced the boo boys who were far from happy after a cup exit to struggling Hearts, a 5-0 Hammering at Ibrox swiftly followed up by a 4-0 first half crushing at the hands of Celtic.
A growing section of the Aberdeen faithful were keen to see Derek McInnes move on after those results but they have certainly ben appeased with 3 terrific results which has seen them leapfrog Motherwell and they have an opportunity to put clear daylight between themselves and the impressive Motherwell and Kilmarnock
Its three and half years since Aberdeen last lost in Perth (7 games) and they will be full of confidence coming into this with 6 goals in their last 2 matches.
St Johnstone have not been starting games well (lost the first goal in 10 of their 12 league games) they really lack an experienced centre half and having conceded 2 goals against 4 bottom 6 sides + 4-1 hammering from Hibs in Perth last time out, you have to fancy the Don’s to collect another three points and put this fragile St Johnstone defence to the sword.
There’s absolutely no way they should be 6/5 to win this game but it’s team goals I’ll be on and I fully expect them score 2+ goals against a side who have been shambolic at the back.
Sam Cosgrove has 16 goals in all competitions for Aberdeen this season and I would expect him to give Jason Kerr and Wallace Duffy a torrid time.
