THE lower leagues were good for me last weekend with all my super singles landing so here’s hoping for another profitable weekend.
I’m starting at Stark’s Park where Partick Thistle will try to arrest a slump that has seen them lose four of their last five games.
It’s easy to see where the problem lies for Ian McCall as the Jags have conceded four goals in each of their last three matches.
So a Raith side who have lost just once in their last four will fancy their chances and Rovers are a tempting 13/8 with McBookie.
It’s probably safer going for more goals, however, with over 2.5 strikes 15/13 at SportNation and BTTS priced 4/5 by Bet365.
Sam Stanton has scored four times in his last six outings for Raith so I’m surprised to see the midfielder as big as 8/1 with Paddy Power for anytime scorer today.
That could be worth a speculative punt, especially with Thistle leaking goals.
Ayr smashed four against Partick in midweek to boost their title hopes and now travel to Arbroath.
The Red Lichties won at home for the first time in the league this season last weekend to jump above Hamilton at the bottom.
Dick Campbell will be looking for his side to push on but they won’t get it easy against the Honest Men.
Arbroath’s last four games have seen under 2.5 goals and the wind could limit chances again.
Under 2.5 goals is just 4/5 with Bet365 while betting against BTTS is only marginally better at 5/6 (VBet). The best option may be combining both those in a bet builder.
Hamilton’s form is dismal with five defeats in their last six but they can jump above Cove Rangers with a win at home this afternoon.
Cove haven’t been great on the road but showed character to claim a 2-2 draw with Ayr last weekend.
Mitch Megginson could get some joy against an Accies defence missing suspended Dan O’Reilly and the striker is 11/4 at Betfred to score.
In League One, betting against bottom side Peterhead has been a wise path to follow.
Alloa did me a turn with a Balmoor win last week and it’s high flying FC Edinburgh up next today.
Alan Maybury’s men are a best 17/20 with 888Sport and the odds increase to 2/1 at Betfred if you back them to be winning at HT and FT.
There’s an intriguing Fife derby as Dunfermline host a Kelty side who have won five of their last six games.
I fancy BTTS in this one and it’s 10/11 at Unibet.
Elgin’s Kane Hester hit four in the Cup last week so he looks good value at 7/4 with McBookie for a goal against East Fife back in League Two today.
Super singles:
- Over 2.5 goals at Raith (15/13, S Nation), FC Edinburgh HT-FT (2/1, Betfred). Hester to score (7/4, McBookie). Long shot: Stanton anytime scorer (8/1, P Power).
McBookie bet builder:
- Combining BTTS no with under 2.5 goals at Arbroath pays 103/100.
