IT’S the Old Firm’s little brother but Hearts v Hibs is capable of producing the same level of drama.
However, it will have to go some to match the incident-packed Celtic v Rangers clash last weekend with Alfredo Morelos sent off and Andy Halliday seeing red after the game.
On top of that Ryan Kent, Steven Gerrard and Scott Brown were cited for various “offences”.
Let’s hope we’re talking about the football rather than what’s happened off the ball when Willie Collum blows for full-time at Tynecastle this afternoon.
Collum’s often regarded as card happy but his stats this season aren’t outrageous – showing 134 yellows and seven reds in 41 games.
I tipped a red at Parkhead and every chance of one today at 3-1 with bet365. The cards are set at 50 points and every chance it will go over at 10-11 with Paddy Power.
Both clubs have clinched places in the top six and bragging rights are up for grabs with Hearts one point ahead of their city rivals.
They are favourites at 7-5 with Coral while Hibs are 11-5 at betfair and the draw I favour 23-10 with BetVictor.
Hibs haven’t won at Tynecastle in 10 and two meetings this season have produced just one goal. Under 2.5 match goals looks on at 4-5 with bet365 and no scorer has a chance at 9-1 with Betfred.
Elsewhere today Aberdeen look a decent shout at Dundee where they have won five in a row. The Dons though are no bigger than 4-6 at Betway.
Celtic can clinch the title tomorrow if they beat Livingston today then Rangers slip up at Motherwell.
Odsonne Edouard will be well backed after being rested in midweek and I’m on him to score first at 3-1 with McBookie
The Hoops are no bigger than 2-9 to win so try them -1 at 7-10 with Coral.
Motherwell-Rangers games always seem to feature goals – the last three have totalled 10 goals while this season’s two meetings have totalled 14. Back over 3.5 match goals at 11-5 with BetVictor.
Some big games in the Championship – in fact they’re all big games with every team having something to play for.
Ayr and Inverness are likely to be in the play-offs but either could be caught by Dunfermline who have wobbled lately.
Makes me think a draw at Somerset will suit both sides and that pays 23-10 at McBookie.
The Pars have a tough game at Partick Thistle while Falkirk entertain Alloa. Two home wins will leave the Wasps six points adrift so it could be a landmark day.
I’m backing Thistle, who won 3-0 at Morton last week, at 17-10 with McBookie.
Falkirk have suffered one defeat in seven and are 6-5 with McBookie to notch a huge win.
Queen of the South and Morton are two other teams hoping Alloa lose and again a draw could sit them and pays 12-5 at bet365.
In League One the top three will finish the top three but the other seven clubs still have their fate to be decided.
Airdrie are one of the form sides making a late charge for the play-offs and could move into the top four today. They are 7-5 at William Hill at home to an East Fife side who have lost three in a row.
It’s D-Day for Clyde in League Two with victory against leaders Peterhead needed to keep title hopes alive.
Clyde have stayed focused after their painful four-point deduction to notch four wins in a row and I fancy their chances at 17-10 with William Hill although it won’t be easy and might be safer keeping the draw on side.
Second-placed Edinburgh should take advantage of their rivals meeting by winning at Cowdenbeath at 8-13 with boylesports.
Albion Rovers looked doomed a few weeks ago but three wins in four have moved them one point clear of Berwick and they are a massive 10-3 at bet365 to beat Queen’s Park at home.
You can play safer with Rovers draw no bet at 11-5 with Unibet against a side that’s drawn blanks in back-to-back meetings with Stirling and Cowdenbeath.
