STEVEN GERRARD questioned his side’s mentality after losing to Killie – and for me that was an admission the title race is over.
He didn’t say it outright but bookies reacted to Celtic opening up a 10-point lead by cutting them to 1-8 favourites for nine in a row.
Rangers are out to 5-1 and for me it’s done and dusted after being a toss-up going into the winter break.
The Ibrox men have dropped eight points with defeats to Hearts and Killie and a draw against Aberdeen while Celtic have returned from Dubai with a spring in their step and a 100 per cent run.
Rangers short so go for goals
Gerrard will urge his troops to keep going and they should beat a Livingston side that do their best work at home but I don’t see the Hoops slipping up at Aberdeen tomorrow.
Rangers are no bigger than 2-11 but have beaten their opponents five in a row at Ibrox and netted 10 times in their last three meetings.
It’s three wins out of three this season and the bet here could be over 2.5 match goals at 8-13 with BetVictor.
Scott Arfield scored crackers against Hamilton and Killie and is 5-2 at McBookie to net again.
Celtic want 9 in a row wins at Aberdeen
Celtic are going for nine in a row titles and 10 in a row wins at Aberdeen.
Their recent record at Pittodrie is exceptional with seven of those victories to nil and five covering the -2 handicap.
The Hoops have netted 14 goals in four visits and I can see something like 3-0 this time.
Aberdeen ended a horror run of five games without a goal by hitting three in the first half to sink Hamilton on Tuesday but the Accies were poor.
Celtic are no bigger than 2-5 at McBookie to win and 13-10 to win by two or more. To cover the -3 handicap Paddy Power offer 7-2.
Hearts can win drop fight six-pointer
One of the most impressive facts about the champs’ 5-0 rout of Hearts was no striker scored. Odsonne Edoaurd and Leigh Griffiths took a back seat to the likes of Callum McGregor and Cristopher Jullien.
It’s always tough picking a Celtic first strike but there is anytime scorer value at McBookie in Olivier Ntcham and McGregor at 3-1 and Jullien at 9-2.
Hearts v Hamilton is one of those dreaded six-pointers and I’m backing the Jambos at 8-13 with McBookie.
They were awful against Celtic but are better at home and unbeaten in six against Accies. Strikers Liam Boyce and Steven Naismith can cause trouble and I’m backing Boyce to break the deadlock at 4-1 with bet365.
Blues could come alive in relegation scrap
In the Championship there are just two games today and Arbroath’s home form merits a look against Queen of the South. They are 6-4 at William Hill and less of a risk draw no bet at 4-5 with Ladbrokes.
Montrose are edging to the top four in League One and have played fewer games than their rivals. They are 3-4 at bet365 at home to a Dumbarton side that’s taken one point in 15.
The bottom two meet at Forfar and I wouldn’t be surprised if Stranraer won to close the gap to four points. The improving Blues have held top two Raith and Falkirk in their last two games and are 85-40 at BetVictor to give themselves a relegation lifeline.
Cove v Edinburgh is the big game in League Two and while I’d favour the home side they’re too short at 3-4.
