LIVINGSTON have won two out of three of their league games, including against Hibs and at Dundee United and were ahead for a long spell against Rangers.
Yet they are rated at huge 5/2 outsiders against a Motherwell side who lost home and away to Sligo Rovers with David Martindale’s side continuing to be underrated.
The West Lothian outfit somehow still have the reputation of long-ball merchants who love a tear-up, In fact, they are one of the more attractive sides to watch in the league.
They have a good keeper, a solid defence, a midfield who can create and in Joel Nouble, they have a striker who gets the fans on their feet with his unorthodox style.
It says a lot for Livi that Bruce Anderson, who is one of the most predatory strikers in the league, can’t get a game for them at the moment.
Motherwell must have torpedoed thousands of coupons last week with a deserved win at Aberdeen, but it has to be questionable if that Pittodrie success entitles them to be 23/20 favourites.
They still have plenty of problems under new manager Stevie Hammill and Livi have a great chance at Fir Park.
As mentioned, ABERDEEN were being cursed up and down the land last week, but let’s give them another chance at 6/4 to win at St Johnstone.
Defeat in Perth would make it three losses out of four in the league and the knives would already be out for Jim Goodwin, who has been handed a relative fortune to rebuild his Dons side.
They really should be too strong though for a Saints side who were predictably hammered last week at Ibrox and still have major doubts about how they will do this season.
Aberdeen have an entirely new-look defence and they will take time to gel. But Goodwin has assembled plenty of attacking options now with North Macedonian striker Bojan Miovski already on four goals in four games.
They should have enough about them to get back on track at McDiarmid Park.
DUNDEE look a solid shout at 5/6 to win in Greenock against Morton.
There are encouraging signs at Dens Park under new boss Gary Bowyer. Last week’s 4-2 win against Arbroath was an entertaining affair and they surely boast the most firepower in the Championship with the likes of Zak Rudden, and Paul McMullan and they should be able to score plenty this season.
Dougie Imrie’s Morton may face a battle at the wrong end of the table this season and Dundee can win at Cappielow.
