DUNFERMLINE hit rock bottom last weekend when a nightmare 5-0 loss at Morton saw them drop to the foot of the table in the Championship.
It looked like John Hughes might get the Pars back on track when they claimed back-to-back wins after he replaced Peter Grant in the East End Park dugout.
But his side have since gone six games without a win and the appointment of Yogi now looks like a Boo Boo by the board.
It’s imperative the Pars get back on track today but they host a Hamilton side who are finally hitting a bit of form under Stuart Taylor.
Accies drew 2-2 with Partick last weekend, bringing up my bet builder, and it’s now just one defeat in six.
Taylor has made some shrewd signings and Hamilton look pretty good value at 6/4 with William Hill given the form of both sides.
Over 2.5 goals has come up in the last four for Accies and three of the last four Dunfermline games.
That makes it a great option today at generous odds of 11/10 (Unibet).
Dougie Imrie has made a great start as Morton boss with that thrashing of the Pars following up a 1-1 draw at title-chasing Kilmarnock.
His side head to Ayr today and it’s a tough one to call with the Honest Men also hitting a bit of form.
They have beaten high fliers Raith and Arbroath at Somerset in their last two games so this should be a tight game.
I fancy BTTS at 10/11 with Unibet while McBookie price Gozie Ugwu at 15/8 for a goal. That stands a chance as he netted twice when these sides drew 2-2 at Cappielow last month.
The goals have really dried up for Raith Rovers with just two scored in their last seven matches.
They still remain in the hunt for promotion though and face a huge clash with Arbroath today.
Dick Campbell’s side have also drawn a blank in their last two so I fancy under 2.5 goals at 7/10 (BoyleSports). Betting against BTTS is a bit better value at 10/11 (Coral).
Inverness can go top with a win over Queen of the South if Arbroath slip up in Kirkcaldy. Caley Thistle are just 8/15 at McBookie so I’m backing a Billy Mckay goal instead at 11/8.
The big game in League One sees second-placed Montrose travel to leaders Cove Rangers.
The last two meetings ended in draws but Paul Hartley’s men have won eight in a row so I fancy them at 19/20 (Coral).
League Two leaders Kelty host Edinburgh City. I cashed in by backing Nathan Austin to score last week but he’s odds-on today so I’m switching to Joe Cardle (6/4, McBookie).
Super singles
- Hamilton to win (6/4, William Hill)
- BTTS in Ayr v Morton (10/11, Unibet)
- Billy Mckay anytime scorer (11/8. McBookie)
- Cove Rangers to win (19/20, Coral)
McBookie bet builder
- Combining under 2.5 goals with BTTS no at Raith pays just under evens
