EIGHT IN A ROW and a quadruple Treble for Celtic are within touching distance after a crazy week in Scottish football.
Rangers’ Scottish Cup exit at Hearts made the champions odds on for the trophy and defeat at home to Hamilton confirmed belief the title race was over. Another treble pays just under 1-2 at McBookie.
The Premiership’s not been easy to call this season and was summed up by Hamilton going to Ibrox and winning at odds up to 28-1.
If Livingston hadn’t conceded to Celtic in injury time some lucky – you could call them crazy – punters would have landed a 239-1 double.
Those are prices more associated with the holy grail of five draws – so 239-1 for a double is ridiculous.
Today’s top-flight card doesn’t look much easier so let’s start with the only game I’m confident about tipping and that’s Celtic at home to St Mirren.
The Buddies wouldn’t have expected Hamilton and Hearts to win in midweek – that double was around 90-1 – and could be in a worse position at 4.45pm.
Celtic have won six in a row at home to Saints and netted 17 in five at Parkhead. Best bet on a treble is Celtic -1 at 4-9 with McBookie.
Aberdeen and Hibs have been scoring and conceding and while the game could go either way I like both to score at 19-20 with bet365.
Hearts could have turned the corner after stunning wins against Rangers and Hibs but face another tough one at home to third-placed Motherwell. Again btts looks the call here at 4-5 with bet365.
Hamilton are 9-4 at McBookie to follow Ibrox success with a win at home to Killie but they’ve only beaten the Rugby Park side once in 10 at home. Could be a draw – as could St Johnstone v Livingston.
And what of Rangers who travel to Ross County tomorrow? No one is going to back Steven Gerrard’s men at 2-7 but they have won three in a row in Dingwall. I’d be looking at over 2.5 goals at 8-15 with Ladbrokes.
A shock County success pays 11-1 at Ladbrokes for anyone interested.
If the Premiership’s tough to call what about the Championship. In midweek there were four 0-0 draws out of five and that shows how fiercely competitive and tight it is.
One of those involved leaders Dundee United who still have a 16-point lead at the top despite one win seven.
Worst can beat best in this league but there’s no sign of improvement from Partick Thistle – without a win this year – so United should get back on track at Tannadice today. They are 8-15 at McBookie.
Second-placed Inverness travel to Alloa where they have won twice this season. It’s 8-11 with McBookie for the hat-trick.
Morton’s unbeaten run ended with a last-gasp defeat at Inverness but I’m taking them to bounce back with a win against Arbroath. They are 6-5 at McBookie.
In League One top two Raith and Falkirk will be happy to be back on familiar ground after losing at Dumbarton and Clyde respectively last weekend.
They then drew with each other in midweek and it should remain tight at the top with both winning today.
Raith are 9-20 at bet365 at home to a Forfar side with one win in seven while Falkirk are 2-5 with boylesports against a Peterhead side they hammered 4-0 at home back in October.
Cove are marching towards the League Two title having opened up a 10-point lead over Edinburgh and are short at home to a Brechin side they’ve scored 12 times against in three meetings.
Best bet here could be Cove and over 2.5 match goals at 1-2 with McBookie and I like play-off chasing Queen’s Park at Stenny at 7-5 with sportingbet.
