CELTIC boss Neil Lennon takes his team to Pittodrie on Sunday with the heat on after crashing to defeats against Rangers and AC Milan.
It’s the first part of a double header with Aberdeen that could make or break Lennon’s season, with the delayed Scottish Cup semi-final up next weekend.
After falling four points behind Rangers with that Old Firm defeat the Hoops can ill afford to lose any more ground as they chase 10 in a row.
And Lennon can take heart from Celtic’s record at Pittodrie, with Kris Ajer’s winner on their last visit making it eight victories in a row up north.
That’s why the champions are 13-20 favourites with McBookie while the Dons are 9-2 and the draw 11-4.
It’s a hard one to call because while Celtic have been well beaten in their last two games, they showed an improvement after Lennon ditched his 3-5-2 system at half-time against Milan.
He should stay with a back four at Pittodrie but Aberdeen are in good form so I’m staying clear of backing a result.
Instead go for both teams to score at 21-20 with McBookie as Lennon’s defence still looks vulnerable.
Defending crosses seems to be their Achilles heel and Dons new boy Ryan Edmondson is a big threat in the air.
The Leeds loanee is 9-2 with McBookie for anytime scorer and that looks good value after he scored twice against Hamilton in their midweek win.
Sky Bet are even offering 25-1 on him scoring with a header and that looks a good option for a bonkers bet.
William Hill price anyone scoring from a header at 5-4 and that’s another decent option with Shane Duffy a threat at set-pieces for the Hoops.
These games can be a bit feisty so I like the look of the 7-4 on offer at the same firm for each team to have over one card. That bet has come up in three of the last four games between the sides.
Rangers followed up their derby win with another impressive victory against Standard Liege in Europe.
They host Livingston tomorrow and shouldn’t have too much trouble chalking up another win. A Gers win to nil is 4-6 with McBookie and that will be a popular option for accas as Steven Gerrard’s men look rock solid at the back just now.
Kemar Roofe could start after his wonder goal in Belgium, especially with Alfredo Morelos out of sorts. The Englishman is 4-6 with McBookie for a goal and 13-5 to net first.
A Motherwell player has tested positive ahead of today’s clash with Ross County but I still fancy the Steelmen to win at 3-4 with McBookie.
The Tayside derby in Perth between St Johnstone and Dundee United is the pick of today’s games and I’m backing Saints at 19-20 (Betfred) after they drew at Tannadice with 10 men.
