Damian writes: “One of McBookie’s worst potential losers in the antepost football markets is for Falkirk to grab a top-four finish.
“Most of the bets were placed in the New Year at prices of 50-1 and 40-1 when the Bairns were languishing at the bottom of the Championship but crucially just as boss Ray McKinnon was making some sweeping squad changes.
“And McKinnon seems to have worked his magic as Falkirk are unbeaten in 2019 having won three and drawn two of their five matches.
“McKinnon has also been lucky in that two blank Saturdays since the turn of the year has allowed him even more time to adapt his new squad to his methods and style of play.
“It is still unlikely his side will bridge that nine-point gap and land a play-off spot but I doubt very much they will end the season in their position of ninth.
“Saturday provides McKinnon with a great opportunity to assess just how far his Falkirk side have come as they entertain title challengers Dundee United who have also had a good 2019, losing just once.
“The Arabs are odds on for the game at 5-6 with Falkirk 31-10 outsiders and I feel those prices do not do justice to the work that has been done at Falkirk.
“On-loan striker Zak Rudden continues to be the main man when it comes to Falkirk goals in the Championship and his tally of nine goals from 19 league games is excellent.
“McBookie make Rudden 9-2 to score the opener and give those ante-post punters more hope of a May pay day.
“Staying in the Championship and one of the pre-season favourites for the title, who find themselves at the wrong end of the division, have finally started to find some form.
“Partick Thistle, like Falkirk, hit rock bottom in the league table themselves but the Jags are on a roll with three straight league wins and five wins in a row in all competitions.
“On Saturday they entertain title favourites Ross County who are playing their fourth game in 13 days having lost a Scottish Cup tie on penalties in midweek to Highland rivals Inverness Caley Thistle.
“The 5-2 on offer about Partick Thistle looks too big to these eyes given they have home advantage and have won five on the bounce.
“Scott McDonald joined the Jags recently and has made an immediate impact on his debut – coming off the bench to grab the second goal in the 2-0 win at Alloa.
“McDonald scored 15 from 31 starts at Dundee United and could be a great signing in Thistle’s bid to avoid the dreaded drop. Skippy is 7-1 with McBookie for the game’s first goal.
“Finally, I tipped up Stirling Albion last week and having led twice they went down 3-2 at Elgin. Prior to that defeat they had won six of their previous seven and drawn the other game.
“So odds of 14-5 about them at home to Peterhead seem to be wide of the mark. The visitors have won just one of their last three games and failed to score in two of them so odds-on quotes of 17-20 make little appeal.
“Darren Smith and Dylan Mackin are the Binos’ men for goals at the moment and I’m going to plump for the latter at 11-2 with McBookie as he is also on the pens.
