There’s some very short prices in the Premier League this weekend; Arsenal 1/9, Aston Villa 1/4 and Liverpool 2/7 – a treble that pays a measly 4/5.
All three should win and win well. If they can beat the -1.5 Asian Handicap then the treble pays a healthier 3/1.
It’s Arsenal who are the first of the three in action, taking on Sheffield United at the Emirates. The Gunner have yet to hand out a proper whipping to anyone this season but up against a Blades side that’s taken just one point from nine games, today could be the day.
67% of Arsenal’s goals have come in the second half, the same percentage as goals conceded in the second half by Sheffield United so with Over 2.5 goals at just 4/11, the 5/6 on two or more second half goals for the Gunners appeals. You can double that up with Over 2.5 Arsenal goals for a 21/20 BetBuilder.
In the Championship we’ll be on Middlesbrough again. We’ve cashed in on their last couple of wins and they should make it seven wins in row against Stoke today.
Leicester also look a good thing today against an awful QPR side who are winless in eight and lost five in a row. The Foxes should be one for the Acca this weekend.
Sunderland and Watford also catch the eye at home at around even money.
The Black Cats need to get back to winning ways and have a great opportunity against out-of-form Norwich City who haven’t won in four and surrendered a two goal lead to Leeds last weekend.
Mid-table Watford have eked out two 1-0 wins in the last two outings and boss Valerien Ismael was delighted with the performance in their first away win in nine months on Tuesday. They’ll be desperate to keep that momentum going with a win over Millwall who are heading in the wrong direction.
League Two continues to throw up loads of goals, averaging 3.09 per match. Over 1.5 Goals has landed in 81% of games and Over 2.5 in 60%. Compare that to League One where 73% of games see O1.5 goals and just 46% see O2.5.
Best for Over 2.5 Goals are Newport (87%) then Crewe, Doncaster, Notts County and Sutton Utd (all 73%) but steer clear of Barrow (36%) as well Bradford and Gillingham (both 40%).
This week’s shortlist includes Harrogate v Crewe, Notts County v Wrexham, Accrington v Colchester, MK Dons v Swindon and Stockport v Tranmere which pays just under 10/1.
Celtic went toe-to-toe with La Liga giants Atletico Madrid but it’s back to the bread and butter of the Premiership today and a trip to Easter Road.
The Hoops have come through a tough run of away fixtures unscathed and should get the job done again today. Brendan Rodgers expects to make some changes due to a schedule of seven games in 21 days so it might not be a Celtic as fluent as we’ve seen at times in the past few weeks.
We should also expect goals. Hibs’ defence is the leakiest in the top flight while Celtic have hit 4, 3, 2, 3, 3 in their last five league matches.
Dundee have drawn five of their eight matches so far and drew 12 en route to winning the Championship last season. They could be on track for another share of the spoils at Livingston today.
Three of the last seven meetings have been drawn 0-0 and it should be a close one this afternoon. The draw is 21/10.
It’s the Fife Derby at Stark’s Park and Raith Rovers look overpriced at 23/20 to beat rivals Dunfermline. They won 1-0 at East End Park earlier in the season and are the only team that look capable of keeping pace with Dundee Utd at the moment.
