View our expert’s Longshot Football Accumulator Tips & Predictions for Saturday.
Our Longshot Acca Tips are mostly on the win-daw-win markets and largely based on statistical analysis of recent performances.
Plymouth
Let’s start the longshot with the biggest price of our selections, Plymouth to beat a seriously out-of-form Sunderland.
The Black Cats’ season is in danger of collapsing. After they had clawed themselves in to contention for an automatic promotion place there’s a slim possibility that they could slip out the play-off places altogether. Lee Johnson’s side have picked up just three points from their last 21 and are struggling at just the wrong time of the season.
That kind of reverse momentum is really difficult to turn around and Johnson will have one eye on just getting the regualr season finished and concentrating on the play-offs.
Plymouth have been in great form themselves and were on the end of a 6-0 loss to Charlton just a few weeks ago, but this is 100% a bet against Sunderland rather than for Plymouth. That said, Argyle have a decent home record, winning 11 and drawing four of their 22 on home soil. At just shy of 5/1 Plymouth are worth taking on here.
Wimbledon
Portsmouth are even more vulnerable in League One than Sunderland in the race to secure a play-off place. Pompey have won just one in their last six and ar clinging on to that sixth place by their fingernails.
The last thing the need is a visit to Wimbledon, who despite their lowly 19th place in the table are finishing the season like a train. The Wombles are unbeaten in six and picked up 14 points from the 18 available, scoring 17 goals in the process. they proved last week that they weren’t prepared to let the season fizzle out, maintaining their unbeaten run with a 96th minute equalizer at home to Rochdale.
Based on current form Wimbledon at almost 2/1 is worth a wager.
Leeds Utd
Fourth-bottom Brighton hold a seven point lead over Fulham and look in a good place to avoid the drop with five to play. Chances are Fulham won’t make up the seven point gap, nonetheless Brighton would be grateful for three points at home to Leeds.
But Marcelo Bielsa’s men are unbeaten in six including two wins on their last two away trips, one of which was at champions-elect Man City. Can they win at Brighton? Absolutely. Is 12/5 too big a price for them do so? Absolutely.
Brighton have won just twice at home all season, only equalled by Fulham so the value here lies with the visitors who have won 50% of their road trips.
Hamilton
It’s that time of the season where sides near the relagation zone start pulling out results and Hamilton are past masters are delivering the good just in time to avoid the drop.
The Accies travel to Paisley to play a St Mirren side who will most certainly have a an eye, if not two, on next week’s Scottish Cup semi-final against St Johnstone. The Buddies are safe, have nothing to play for and won’t be interested in risking themselves with the chance to earn a place in the cup final at stake.
Surprisingly, Hamilton have actually drifted in the market and the 9/2 has to be snapped up.
*Please remember, this a LONGHSOT acca so keep stakes small and consider perming the selections
