MAD Lions are 4-3 ahead of the fourth week of LEC 2022 Summer, which is about where we expected them to be – a good team but not quite the best. Still, MAD have been playing much better this split, largely due to the addition of Yasin “Nisqy” Dinçer has taken over the supporting mid laner role and is an enabler for Javier “Elyoya” Prades Batalla to play his carry style.
Even though we wouldn’t consider MAD an elite team, they’ve been efficient in beating lesser teams, which is exactly what MAD Lions will have to achieve on Saturday when they face off Astralis. Like MAD, Astralis have improved this split and are actually pretty solid – but that’s relative to the expectations we had for them.
Definitely stronger than Team BDS and SK Gaming, but not quite up there with the rest of the top teams; Astralis carry the tag of a dangerous underdog, largely due to their aggressive bottom lane. This has proven to be a double-edged sword as Astralis have lost games due to being too aggressive, but while their results have been up and down, one thing has remained consistent: Astralis are often involved in high-scoring games.

Team Vitality are the most frustrating team to watch, mainly because their ceiling is much higher than what they’ve shown. Going from Oskar “Selfmade” Boderek to Kang “Haru” Min-seung didn’t and was never going to make them more competitive, and there seem to be some deeper issues in the team.
They nearly lost against Astralis last week but ended up winning purely off fielding a more talented roster. That won’t work against better teams, and it definitely won’t work against Fnatic.
Fnatic are easily a top-two European League of Legends team, and while they can have their shaky moments, Fnatic play like a cohesive unit and have very strong laners. Rarely will they lose due to lane difference, but Fnatic may make a misplay in mid-late game, which will cost them the win.
However, such slip-ups have become far rarer of late, so there is really no reason to doubt Fnatic going into Week 4 of LEC 2022 Summer. With how the Black & Orange have been playing, it will take a lot more than a disorganised “superteam” to beat them.
