After a four week lay-off the Scottish Premiership resumes this afternoon but the weather might delay a few team’s return to action.
Motherwell v St Mirren has already fallen foul to the weather as has a number of other matches north and south of the border, so check the fixtures before getting your coupon on today.
Celtic travel up north for an early kick-off with Aberdeen in front of the Sky Sports cameras at 12.30 for a game which should beat the weather. Rangers cut the gap to six points in Michael Beale’s first competitive match in charge on Thursday so Celtic need to return to action in the same kind of form as they left off before the break.
But a trip to Pittodrie is as tough as they come in the Premiership these days. The Dons have only been beaten once on home soil this season and have scored as many goals at home as both Celtic and Rangers, so a tough test lies ahead for Ange Postecoglou’s men.
Aberdeen pose a real goal threat at home and both teams to score pays 4/6 whilst a home win has drifted a little from 6/1 to 13/2.
On paper the Hoops look too strong but they’re a little short to get involved with at just 2/5. Jota has a good scoring record against Aberdeen and is 11/8 to find the net.
At Tynecastle, Hearts host a Kilmarnock side who have scored just once in eight away games. The Jambos can put a tough European campaign behind them and concentrate securing third spot in the league. 4/5 looks a very fair price despite Killie good recent record against Hearts.
Livingston also look a good price at even money to win at home to Dundee Utd. The visitors are winless on the road and won just one in seven before the break. Livi are overperforming again this season and sit fourth in the table despite having only scored 15 goals in 15 games. This has a low scoring win all over it and one-goal winning margin for either side pays 11/8.
In Qatar, ahead of tomorrow’s final, we’ve got the pretty meaningless 3rd / 4th place play-off this afternoon.
Croatia and Morocco may not think so however and there’s no doubt both will giving it their all to achieve the best finish possible.
Morocco have already set umpteen new records for an African nation at the World Cup but it would be a fitting finale for their endeavours if they could seal third place.
The bookies make Croatia favourites to take the win and 13/10 appeals, especially if they can get their noses in front.
